We were a group of 14 ‘ancients’, with half in the four rooms at Casa Debbia and the remainder in accommodation nearby. Charlie, our Scottish host, managed to cater superbly, generously and efficiently for us all at breakfast time – and to answer a constant bombardment of questions with good humour and abundant local knowledge.
Casa Debbia is appropriately rustic, clean and comfortable – and the farmhouse is well sited halfway between Coreglia on the Serchio valley floor (en route for Barga) and the old town of Coreglia Antelminelli high up in the foothills of the rugged Appennines. This is not a touristy part of Tuscany – but Lucca, Pisa and stately villas are less than an hour away if you need to keep in touch with the crowds.
The atmosphere at Casa Debbia is relaxing, restorative and highly recommended.
