“Goalicious Experience!”

We were 4 of us. There was renovation work in the hotel, which the hotel staff said would be completed in a month or so. The hotel property is huge. A clean and neat swimming pool which we used twice in our stay of 2 nights. It's just opposite to the beach where there is a open ground in between. The beach is silent and not that crowded. A 5 mins walk for renting a Car/Bike. The Leela, Radisson and Holiday Inn properties are not far from this property.
The hotel is taken over by a new management and they are really upgrading the hotel and improving the hotel facilities. We didn't try food out there.
We traveled on activa almost all the three days to north goa.
Great VFM property!

Well I was quite surprised to read the one review present on this site for the resort. Looks like an old review, so probably not updated :-)

Things have surely have changed in these years. The rooms

did seem a little old and dingy but that’s because of the weather at Goa. I’m sure it can’t be helped much!!!

I had only breakfast at the resort, so can’t say about lunch n dinner. But the buffet was great. Both quality n quantity were great.

The resort in itself is very well organized. The staff is helpful and courteous. They have a private beach just next to the resort. One can just walk across the small road to hit the beach. And believe me, it is absolutely beautiful. White sand, blue ocean and the best part is, there are not many people to spoil the beauty. Most of north Goa’s beaches are very populated and hence for a person like me, those are best avoided.

The best time to go there is between October and February.

Enjoy your vacation at Goa!!

Stayed here for 2 night and 3 days with a group of friends. Great place to relax, with beach on one side and river on other. the buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner were good.
Swimming pool is large and good enough for swim.
overall a great place to unwind.

One of the key Old Anchor management rules is that photos are not allowed, hence you are spared the horror that this hotel is.
1) I never thought there was any place in Goa where the food could be bad.. but Old Anchor does manage to serve up terrible food ... thankfully there is a shack on the beach just opposite which makes awesome pancakes and sandwiches
2) Rooms which don't lock, I was just relaxing after unpacking when suddenly 4 hotel staff strolled in despite the door being locked. apparently the lock doesn't work but after hearing the horror stories from my friends in other rooms I chose to remain in this room and compensated by pulling the couch and chair in front of the door at night
3) Stained towels and bedsheets
4) Muddy brown water
and I could go on and on

The good part is that its just opposite the nice Cavelossim beach ...and you would probably be better off living on the beach

I stay at this resort for 4 days. Though this was a nice property but is not at all maintained properly. Rooms were dirty; Utensils in the kitchen were not in a usable condition; spoiled all the mood for a good vacation. Staff were not at all trained and not supportive.

Will not recommend it to others.
