“Lovely Hotel, lovely staff very sad to leave.”
Reviewed 2 August 2011

Hotel is just as advertised. Very friendly, clean and good value for money. We stayed in room 254 overlooking rear of property which had great views of the valley and was nice and quite catching the sun most of day whilst we where there. Pool was unbeliveably clean and lots of sun beds for everyone all through the day. Pool bar staff very friendly and service was great. Town centre was an easy walk with first shops/ bars reached within 5 minutes and beach within 10-12mins. Would recommend this hotel and resort to familys and anyone looking for a quite pieceful holiday with good service and good choice of restaurants / bars.

Room Tip: As above can reccomend room 254 and people in 252,253 also said there rooms where good.

Returned to the Petros for the second time. Arrived at 7am and had been allocated a lovely room overlooking the pool. Room clean, furniture dated, beds on the firm side and shower curtain a great experience. This is Greece and we love it! Extra charge for air con, fridge and safe deposit box, which we were happy to pay for our own comfort! All staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast(7:30 - 9:30am) was continental style and fresh. English breakfast, bacon sandwiches, etc available from pool bar from 10am - 12noon(reasonably priced if you fancy a sleep in) and other snacks/drinks available for lunch. Never a problem getting a sunbed at any time of the day and pool wasn't overcrowded. Went to Valentina's Castle for our evening meal each night. This was our reason for returning to Tsilivi. Turn right out of the hotel, keep walking until you reach Athena supermarket. Valentina's is down a short lane directly after the supermarket,(you will see the menu board) The food(and welcome) was once again superb. This is real home cooked food and very reasonably priced. Try it,you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: E-mail hotel in advance for any room requests.

stayed at the above hotel, for 2 weeks, prior to going read numerous reports on trip advisor regarding the hotel breakfasts , i dont know what people expect, there was ample to choose from, (nothing cooked) but cereals, fruit, ham/cheese,lovely greek bread , yoghurt typically greek. the staff were fantastic, everyone from the housekeeping to maintainence. and especially alexandra on reception who put herself out to be of help.and and she did have some touchy customers, the only downside was the bar manager at the outside pool bar, a bit miserable. the rooms were very clean and sorted everyday even sunday. they were basic but all essentials were there.would not hesitate to go back.

Room Tip: all rooms seemed well positioned, some overlooking the pool, which never got too noisy.

My two friends and I visited the Petros in June 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the island of Zante.

We had requested a twin and single room close to one another. |However on arrival we had been allocated rooms on different floors. The helpful receptionist managed to reallocate one room so at least we were on the same floor but disappointingly not next door as requested. The rooms were simple and basic. However we were troubled by noisy neighbours. My friend's single room was particularly noisy as it was located near the reception area. This was disturbing when people were returning at night. The towels were changed twice and the bedding once. We would have liked clean towels and bedding at least every other day. The bin was emptied daily in the bathroom but there was no evidence that the bathroom itself was cleaned.

The breakfast was buffet style, no frills but adequate. Bread, processed cheese, sliced ham, boiled eggs, tinned peaches, fruit jelly, cake, greek yoghurt, tea, coffee and orange squash. The dining room itself was very clean and food was replenished all the time.

The Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and all spoke excellent English. In particular the two female receptionists were very friendly and knowledgeable.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the centre of the resport of Tsilivi. It is about a 5-10 min walk to the centre and about 15 mins to the beach. The beach is long but very narrow. We preferred a 25 min walk (past the petrol station) to the far end of the beach where it was quieter. There was a great choice of restaurants and bars. The ones we particularly enjoyed were the Olive Tree, Pieros and a more traditional restaurant called Demares (I am not sure whether I have spelt this correctly). Turn right out of hotel and right again at bus stop. Follow this road past petrol station and it is situated just after on the left. On the evening we went, there were a couple of Greek families eating there which is usually a good sign. The food was more traditional and the father did most of the cooking on a large open barbecue. We particularly enjoyed the home made sausage.

Zante town is a must to visit. We caught the local bus (which is almost outside the hotel) on two occasions to Zante Town It only takes about 15 minutes. However ignore the bus timetable as it seemed to turn up when it felt like it! You also need to be aware that the last bus from Zante back to Tsilivi stops early evening. On our evening visit we had to get a taxi back to the hotel. This cost about 11 euros. Be aware though that most of the shops shut at 2-3pm in the afternoon. They do open later about 5 ish. The harbour is lovely and we enjoyed the walk from one end to the other. We also had two very pleasant meals in the Square. This area is where you find most of the restaurants and Tavernas.

We booked an island tour which we really enjoyed and would recommed. We booked through our Thomas Cook representative. It was probably more expensive than booking at a shop in the resort centre but there were only 16 in the group which made it more personal. The guide on the day was a Greek lady and she made the day for us. She was extremely knowledgeable and obviously very proud of her island.

In conclusion a basic hotel in a good location. Not sure whether I would return but enjoyed a good week's holiday.

Room Tip: Away from the reception area on the ground floor
