I am conflicted about the overall rating for Lerruat. It’s a beautiful location with great service from Charles (in charge of security), Filex (drinks wizard) and Duncan in the restaurant - there were however some experiences that could be better.

The pros:
- Breathtaking views of the valleys and general scenery
- Beautiful pool; will be more amazing when the rest of construction is completed
- Nice kids play area including cool archery (suction type not pointy arrow which is still surprisingly not easy :-))

The cons:
- Slow service; reception doesn’t pick up until you call a couple of times both when booking or requesting service from the room, slow check-in, slow food service especially considering COVID restrictions where it’s not self service. Could they be understaffed...?
- The restaurant is a bit congested, with full capacity they cannot seat everyone at the same time
- Buffet variety is limited, on our first day, the only soup available was cabbage soup!
- The chafers don’t seem to keep the food warm, you need to microwave the food

Be ready for the drive up the hill heading to the gate - it’s very steep - ensure your vehicle is up to the task. You could also put in some good up/down hill exercise walking from the gate to the reception. The WiFi is not so bad...

Booking process was smooth, check in took abit of time as we were several guests who had arrived almost at the same time which was understandable, rooms were clean well set with amazing views from the balcony. The atmosphere in this place is so peaceful and fresh you dont want to leave.
They have a swimming pool now which is a plus and their is a kids corner which my kids loved and had something to keep them entertained. WiFi has improved from the last time i was here
The downside of this resort is for the price they charge you dint get value in terms of the food provided. Breakfast is very limited so is lunch and dinner. Food was getting cold fast must be the windy weather in the evenings maybe but compared to what you would get in other hotels they need to really improve on their menu.
Christmas lunch was a big let down as the food was so basic the only good thing was Nyama choma that had been done to perfection.
No mini-fridge in the room

Room tip: All Rooms have a beautiful view of the hills

Failed to advise it's customers that they will only allow those with reservations to enter. Those without reservations had to turn back at the gate. Not cool, especially if one has travelled from far just to enjoy some good time with family.
