We were on our way back from a Road trip with out 6 year old pet retriever and needed to make an overnight stop in Kolhapur. I searched and called many properties including Sayaji and Fern yet no property was Pet friendly. I finally found Nisarg and Pooja from reservation was very professional and helpful in confirming my reservation. Booked for the King Suite with bathtub and though the room was "nice", it was the bathroom that was the show stopper!
It's in the outskirts of Kolhapur atop a hill. Our room had a patio sit out and a small green patch which did wonders for our dog's mood :) The best thing was that we had our own small gate so our pet could not escape. The AC does a decent job yet if you enjoy a warm cuddle in your blanket in cold room, that won't be possible as you will wake up drenched in sweat. This room could definitely do with a bigger AC. Also, you WILL be greeted with lots of cockroaches everywhere so think twice before putting your clothes in the cupboard and leaving food unsealed on the electric kettle table. Do NOT keep the door open even for a minute else you will have grasshoppers and lots of mosquitoes that refuse to die with All out in your room. Dab odomos before you go to bed.
Food is decently priced and yummy!!

The bathroom is Spectacular. It feels like a cave with its wood and rock slab interiors. The tub is HUGE and is almost a mini pool! Water is not hot enough for a steaming soak but will be enough to get a pleasantly warm soak for 15-20 mins. The shower is not exactly kid friendly as they can slip on the rock when taking a shower or even if you are naturally not very sure footed as you are prone to slip once soap and shampoo hit the rock floor. A handle near the shower would really be great as it will ensure safety of the guests.

We took a break on our Goa Mumbai Road trip. Our BEST decision. The property is very pretty and great for a short stay. They do also arrange for a jeep Safari and some evening programmes. The food is great and one must eat the local fare. Its YUMMMMM. The morning breakfast is SUPERB.
The personal touch is amazzing. Stephen Peter is the GM. and he has a team of extremely efficient staff. He himself leads by example. He goes beyond the call of duty to ensure your comfort. From the hotel room to the food recommended (along with Akshay). In fact we had left a small parcel behind and whilst all other hotels do little to help you, Stephen went out of his way late night to send it to us in Mumbai by bus. Its a WOW effort. He really took pains to help us here. It is these little but important matters that show us that the service is not just excellent but very very personal!! Its wow!!

Room tip: Take a room at a highlovely.er level, for a good view at night. The twinkling lights of the city are

This was a GORGEOUS property cut into the side of a mountain, but we weren't in it for the views or the amenities. We just wanted a place that would be loving and accepting of our cat and dog, and boy, were they ever! We got a beautiful room that had a shared garden with one other room of presumably dog lovers, which was a total surprise. We did our part to keep the garden clean. There was some room for improvement in the food, but we loved our stay!

We stayed in the Jai Villa with a hot tub inside the room and a spacious balcony with reclining chairs. The room was very neat clean and huge. The view from the room was spectacular. The food we had was amazing also the complimentary breakfast had variety. Humble and friendly staff being very polite, they taught us the lajim dance around the bonfire. We went on a morning walk and we saw lots of peacock and other beautiful birds. Early in the morning the clouds enter our balcony and it was an amazing experience.
