we stopped using this pub for food over a year ago due to both terrible food and service but new management has definitely turned things round, menu is good, service is excellent and food quality and portions are top notch would highly recommend it now.

The food and drinks at Marthas is pretty good. The drinks most times are even cheaper than Wetherspoons across the road but not everyone knows this. The food is well priced and usually served in good time. The only complaint we ever have is that everyone hears the Chef shouting and swearing in and out of the kitchen and he really should be asked (by the management) to keep his noise level and the swearing down - PLEASE

Called for lunch as Friday decided to have fish & chips. Food came quickly, but too quickly as my fish was soggy and indistinguishable from the undercooked still runny batter. Sent it back and got another one brought out. Slightly better than first but still undercooked, the bread was stale and no member of staff checked on our table even though I had sent meal back. Would not go back, poor service and even poorer food. If you can't cook fish at the seaside it is a bad job!
