Just got back home from this beautiful Hotel and Island. ALL staff do an amazing job as always. Rooms are cleaned daily and bedding changed daily as so are the towels. Comfortable room in Villa 6 with amazing views.

Food was plentiful and lovely and the presentation was outstanding. There is always something for everyone.

Drinks were lovely and also Plentiful.

The pool and beach areas are cleaned regularly and very good.

Entertainment was good.

Didn't use the Gym or Spa so I can not comment.

Both ferries run on time so you can set your watch by them.

A nice age range of guests.

Overall another great holiday.

A huge Thank you to the Reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff and the 2 lovely ladies who kept the Hotel Immaculately clean. Too many names to mention.

See you all again in a couple of years

We just had a great week here. Food was great - so much choice every day. Rooms were always spotless. Our wardrobe door runner came off - was fixed in matter of minutes. Free safe- nice. Entertainment by JJ and Imma was always good fun - brilliant job girls. The waiting staff were really excellent too. There were always sun loungers available if you wanted one. The island itself it just lovely - there are some really easy walks with tremendous views. All round - I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed for a week with my wife following a cruise. Allocated a room in block 7 ground floor which had a lovely balcony with loungers, table/chairs overlooking the beach and hotel area. Room was spacious, with good aircon, well furnished, (strangely there is no dryer on balcony although plenty of space). The room was cleaned daily and left spotless. There is a free digital safe, minibar restocked daily and bathroom toiletries also restocked daily. The Hotel staff were excellent, always friendly and very helpful, especially at the reception. The hotel overall is very clean and well maintained with plenty of seating, either in the restaurant or bars, although the seating in the outside bar area could be improved for comfort. Food is of a very high standard with plenty of choice, and drinks served were good quality. The beach area was again very clean and the water crystal clear, ideal for swimming. The a la carte restaurants were good for a change of scenery but if anything we preferred the choice in the main restaurant which was always relaxed and unhurried. The hotel was exactly what we wanted, relaxing, peaceful, of a high standard with hard working, welcoming and friendly staff.

Arrived here following a weeks cruise and to say it is beautiful, peaceful and heavenly would be an understatement. From the minute you arrive you are greeted with a cold flannel and cocktail there is honey liqueur there for you to try.
Check in was super speedy and apartment delightful. The variety and quality of the food is perfect. So much choice you will never tire. Every thing about this place is stunning. I can find no fault whatsoever.

If you want peace quiet beauty and class this is the place to come. We will be retuning.

We have just returned from two wonderful weeks at this hotel and the experience was great from start to finish. Croatia is simply stunning and getting to explore from the peace and tranquility of Kolocep island made it even more special. I'm not sure if this review will say much different to others but it certainly will support the lovely things other travellers have said.

Thomson actually do a great job of marketing this place; yes, you are marooned on an island, the hotel has several flights of stairs to the accommodation blocks, and there is very little in the way of 'lively' entertainment. If you are looking for anything other than this then I'd suggest going elsewhere. For us, we got exactly what we wanted out of our holiday which was a relaxing, adults only two weeks with low key activities in good standard accommodation with great food, and the option to explore Dubrovnik.

The ferry over from the port to Kolocep takes around 40 minutes but you get to take in some of the beauty of the mainland and other islands while you are crossing, and the majority of the check in is done on the boat, meaning the arrival at reception is swift and stress free. A welcome drink and cold cloth are a lovely little touch as you arrive to formally check in too.
Your bags are delivered to your room, and ours were there within 15 mins of us getting to ours. When we arrived our wardrobe doors were broken but reception sent someone from maintenance very quickly and within 30 minutes they were completely fixed. Everyone comments on the staff but we were incredibly impressed with their speed and efficiency, and the maintenance man who fixed the doors always made a point of stopping and talking to us, making sure we were relaxing and even gave us some insight in to the countries history. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get his name before we left!

We booked a standard room which was perfectly adequate for our stay. They are small but are nicely furnished, well maintained and cleaning standard was good. Our balcony didn't have much of a view but that wasn't a priority for us. I would suggest paying extra if you want a view and like sitting on your balcony, as the views of the bay are stunning. Some of the blocks had incredible views and we always saw people on their balconies but you are so close to everything that we didn't feel we'd missed out. Unless you pay specifically for the sea view, most rooms seem to overlook grassed areas or other accommodation blocks so it would depend on what your priorities are when it comes to choosing a room type.

We were very impressed with the food and the choices in the restaurant, and it was nice to see a buffet that wasn't full of burgers, chips and hot dogs. Make sure you check out the fresh meats and fish cooked on the grill in the evening - absolutely gorgeous! The A la Carte restaurants were fab too, particularly the Culinarium restaurant so I'd highly recommend visits to these. One thing that we did like was that at all three meal times you could sit outside when eating at the buffet. Also, the outside temperature was always very pleasant to eat outside, despite the daytime temperature being very hot. We also liked that the wine would be served in a carafe at meal times too.
Overall the food was fresh and you could eat as healthily or unhealthily as you wanted. Be sure to make your way through the entire mojito menu at the mojito bar!

The ferries allow you to 'escape' the island and visit Dubrovnik, which is a must because it is so beautiful in the old town. I'd advise going early though as it gets extremely busy. There were four cruise ships in on the first day we went in which meant it was packed by 9am. The hotel ferry needs a minimum of 6 passengers to run so we relied on the public one, which leaves from the same pier. Brave the 6.45am to Dubrovnik and see it in the morning when it is peaceful. We did this on several mornings and had breakfast over there and watched the world come to life-bliss!

There were always lots of loungers so no need to play the towel game, and in general people didn't tend to do this. Towels were freshly laundered in the morning and plenty of space to pitch up by the pool or in one of the other bathing areas. It was so relaxing by the pool are that our days ended up being very long but totally chilled.

The entertainment team were awesome. They have pitched it just right with regards to the activities and you never felt forced to join in, unlike other hotels I've been to. From Aquafit to pool side quizzes and giant jenga round the pool, we always had a laugh and were kept entertained. So many reviews comment on how great the staff are, but I can genuinely say that this is absolutely correct. All staff were lovely but a few stand out as ones who really made our holiday. Rea in the outside seating area of the buffet restaurant was delightful and no matter if it was breakfast or evening meal, we were always well looked after by her friendly face and warm attitude. AnnaMarija on the front desk was always very helpful (and never seemed to go home!) but worked very hard and always very knowledgeable. Our special mentions have to go to JJ, Imma (sports and entertainments) and Jake (guest relations) who were just awesome people who went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best holiday. I could write a separate review for those three but they knew by the time we left how much we'd enjoyed spending time with them. They work so hard and really are a credit to the hotel and to the company.

The only slight negative about the hotel, and I'm really clutching at straws, is the gym. It is tiny with very little equipment which made our daily workouts somewhat challenging but if that is all we could find to complain about then I'll take it!

If you are thinking of booking to stay here - do it! Just be aware that it is exactly as described in the brochure so if you want more on your doorstep to explore or more of a party atmosphere then go elsewhere. Perhaps reconsider if your mobility isn't great too. Would I come back? In a heartbeat! I'm not sure we will just because there is a big wide world out there but we loved every minute and are looking at booking another Sensimar hotel for next summer.
