Alessandra and Aldo have been magnificent hosts, organising a great dinner and sparing no efforts to make everyone feel good. The food was excellent, the decor beautiful, the attention to detail excruciating - all in a very friendly and festive atmosphere. The hot air balloons, the bingo (“tombola”), the prizes. Thank you for the best New Year’s Eve dinner I have had in memory (and I had a few already...)! And happy 2018!

We were staying with an English family in the Aosta valley and were recommended this beautiful restaurant by our hosts. We cannot speak any Italian and so the chef very kindly went through the whole menu and interpreted each dish as much as she was able and we decided to try a different dish for each of our party of five (two adults and three teenage children). We were served the most delicious variety of dishes and each plate was passed round so we could all sample each others' food! The host was so friendly and despite our language barrier, we managed to chat with him, with the help of my daughter's English/Italian dictionary app, and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We had the most amazing evening in their company and will definitely visit Les Fleurs d'Aquilou again when we return.

Great location and very friendly service however the food was out of sync. I had a meat dish of gorgonzola wrapped in radicchio leaves rolled into what looked and tasted like a boiled grey thin beef cutlet surrounded by slimy porcini mushrooms. No thank you. That was the main course. The starter looked good on the menu but was essentially some overly thick cornmeal pancakes with various toppings like, blood sausage, and sweating lardo, sprinkled with icing sugar !

There is an obvious attempt to rework traditional vallee d'asota foods into something else however it fails to do the business. Among our group of four nobody thought the food passed muster, so enjoy the many free home-made digestivos and enjoy the views.

Bear in mind though that a lunch for four with starters, main course, bottle of proseco, half litre of house wine , a bottle of sparkling water and four coffees cost us 130 euros.

For the first time, after so many years in the Valley, we decided to use Tripadvisor to search for new restaurants to try. It turned out to be a very good idea. This restaurant is in a small mountain village (a few scattered houses and a small church) a good 30 min. drive from Sarre, in a panoramic spot just below the "Becca France". The view over the surrounding mountains and the Aosta town below is exceptional.
The place is small, nice, in a typical mountain style. The owners "unusually" friendly and kind.
All dishes are from the Valley's tradition only slightly "re-interpreted". We particularly loved the hand made pasta and the gnocchi but in general all serving were delicious, well balanced and very light. We can't think of any real negative point but some of the dishes may require a bit of additional depth and lingering savoriness. Then, will be perfect.
Will certainly return.
