The hotel was booked online, it stated we would pay in advance. On arrival the hotel looked tired and the entrance below was being used by truckers to go down to the basement area for showering.

The BAD SERVICE:
1. Breakfast was sparce, most of the bread was finished, the place looked tired, old and messy. We had a full hour to go but breakfast had already been finished.

2. At checkout I was told that I would have to be charged as this was not actually done. I showed my online reciept and they confirmed WRONGLY

3. Back home, in 2 months I noticed TWO CHARGES from the hotel

4. We contacted them and they WOULD NOT OFFER to send it to our Visa card

5 Instead they applied the credit to our bank account, we were charged by 7.50Eur, so are down by this amount.

6 On asking the General Manager, Mr Palmieri he shouted at my partner on the phone and said he didnt care.

The lack of professionalism is abhorrent, they did not even offer to repay to our VISA card.

This is what the manager replied when we said we would complain to the Holiday Inn Group CEO:

From: Info Hotel Express Aosta <Info@hotelexpressaosta.it>
"There is no problem, you can easily go to where you want".

"non ci sono problemi vada tranquillamente dove desidera."
G.M. Giovanni Palmieri

They claim that they have internet in their rooms. They do not. No apologies from staff. Overall, a depressing place to stay, impersonal and drab.

I stayed at Hotel Argence for one night on 22 Jan 2010 while driving from London to Malta. This is the third time I've stopped here on similar journeys (it is the perfect distance when driving south from London for the second night stop before catching the Malta ferry in Livornol, and right next to the motorway).
Please note this is no longer a Holiday Inn Express hotel and can no longer be booked through HIE, but it retains all the comfort of the HIE. The price has not changed in 6 years, at 50 euro for one person in a double room, 80 euro for a couple.
The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bath/shower room is spacious and modern. A good sized TV with satellite TV in various languages. Wifi internet costs 3 euros per hour. Breakfast is meagre, as is usual in Italy.
Staff very friendly and helpful. There is no room service, but a restaurant a floor below the hotel.
The hotel is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a shopping and office complex called the Autoporto close to the A5 autostrada exit of Aosta Est, close to Aosta airport. (from motorway exit, follow signs to Autoporto and Carrefours, the hotel is in the building immediately behind Carrefours, drive through the ground floor carpark into the large courtyard.
There is no secure parking as such, but parking in the courtyard is safe in that it is constantly watched by security.
The large Carrefours Supermarket offers food and clothes. There are also various other shops and restaurants in the complex.
I rate this hotel as excellent for for its target market and recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable place to stay when driving past Aosta.

Good hotel. Large bedroom and bathroom, clean, and friendly staff too. Paid Euro 80 for a double room per night. Only negative aspect: breakfast is very poor (bread and butter only), but that's typical in Italy. It's hard to find good breakfast-buffets in Italy.

Large holiday inn express situated near the small airport, next to motor way. Service bus picked us up and dropped us off directly outside hotel for ski lifts. Had a fantastic skiing holiday and didn't have any problems with hotel.

Meals in hotel restaurant were basic but good. There were a few shops around and inside the hotel including a large carrefour supermarket which was good to stock up on essentials. There is also a great ice cream shop across the road - yum! The gym above the hotel was good. However, you need a car/taxi to take you into town as there are no pavements.
