We were there on 12th to 14th of August a group of 15 members. The place is surrounded by trees and the site is peaceful. Rooms are clean and the property is maintained well. Rooms are slightly smaller but u will not feel to stay inside the rooms longer once u r there with nature. Food is alright given the options. U will not get mouth watering dishes but enought to enjoy the beauty. Online booking is available as well. As a whole good place to keep yourself and relax and enjoy nature beauty.

we stayed at this property for 2 times. location was marvelous.... it seems we enter a different world, from our daily life. sonajuri forest is just behind of the bungalow... you can spend your all day just watching the forest. nature will take you with her own world..
now about the service,
service was good,
food quality was OK... also a bit costly,
room was small and not up to the prize...
behave of the staff was very polite...
if the management take initiate improve these matter, it could turn to be the best staying option in shantinikaten...

Room Tip: rooms of 1st floor

The location of the hotel in the map is incorrect. It is actually situated at Sonajhuri, and close to Basundhara Art & Craft Village.
The Hotel premise is clean and tidy. The ambience is serene and leisurely. The world seems to have stopped over there, as it is at the edge of the Sonajhuri forest. We were allotted a room on the first floor.
But, comfort and luxury was missing (to a great extent). I feel that if the following drawbacks are immediately addressed to then it might make the stay much better:
1. Rooms are not spacious, the TV was old and without proper reception as there is no set-top box. The bed is devoid of a luxury mattress. The toilet was clean but small. Moreover, the rooms are full of geckos and we had to beg for a mosquito net to sleep peacefully.
2. The property is understaffed. During our stay we met the Manager, Mr. Lalan the cook (or Man Friday) and a sweeper only. Mr. Lalan cooked, served food, chased away geckos, switched on the evening lights, switched on the geyser line when we asked for it, found us the mosquito net after searching three rooms, provided us with the AC remote which was missing, etc., etc.
3. There was a limited choice of dishes and quality of food was average. Prices are on the higher side compared to the quality and quanrity served. However, the chicken chow which the cook prepared on the second night was wonderful. The dining room was shabby and full of flies.
4. Quality of linen needs to be improved. Sometimes it felt as if we were spending our holiday in a Holiday-home.
Always buy water from Santiniketan (while on your way to the property). It helped us immensely.
Nonetheless, inspite of all the difficulties, we had a good stay as the proprietor, Mr. Banerjee was a kind and helpful man.

Room Tip: First floor rooms should be better.

We visited the property with family. Let me list down our experience in details:
1. View from room: Excellent view of Sonajhuri forest from room no 8 and 9
2. Stuff: very helpful. They always helped us with all our requests
3. Food: Please note that they don't have a full fledged restaurant, so can't expect everything. They prepare homely food as per order and it's really tasty. Though the quantity of veg curry was very less compared to the price.
4. Quality of rooms: Very poor. They can accommodate only two adults. We had to book additional room as the beds were not big enough to accommodate a child. Room 10, 11 had bigger bed compared to 8 & 9.
5. Quality of towel, bedsheets, pillow is below average. They provide only one towel per room which is better not to use
6. Even the AC was leaking in our room, so had to keep bucket !!

We were a group of 10 office people. Booked 1 AC Double bed, 1 AC 4 bed, 2 non AC double bed. All d rooms were on ground floor & quite spacious. Cleanliness was good. With a few improvements this hotel can turn out to be d best in Sonajhuri area. Affordable price & just behind the sonajhuri forest near d Saturday haat. Mr.Nibir Banerjee (9434249688)was helpful. We had to leave early in dawn, he managed to provide us with bread & boiled eggs. They have complimentary breakfast by d way.
Improvements dat need to be done-1) Non AC rooms need ventilation- quite suffocating otherwise- can't open d windows; its better to book AC rooms or rooms on 1st floor. 2)U can look through the Windowpanes into inside of d rooms!! 3)Towels, Bedsheets need faded & wornout.4)Rooms should be routinely cleaned each morning if u stay for more than 1day, toiletries(not only soap) should be provided. 5)Dey levy service charge for giving water bottles to room! D bottle are already charged xtra than MRP. 6) Fooding is expensive.
