I stayed at dancing lights with my mother for 3 days and felt like i was at home. Room is spacious and cozy with a big bathroom. The host is very hospitable and warm. Not to forget about the food its just yummy. Tulu is an awsome cook with magic in her hands. The place is very near to most of the famous places around shantiniketan. I would recommend this place for everyone if they like peace and great food. Dancing lights is coming up with two more rooms with an open terrace which can accomodate family of 4 in each so people can plan accordingly. I would love to stay over there again if i visit shantiniketan
We found 10 days of beauty and peace in the village hut of dancing the lights. Just outside Santiniketan we stayed with a great family. Close to nature and at the same time there is enough good comfort to relax. Every day we got a big suprise of excelent Bengali food. We discovered the beauty landscapes and villages in the surrounding with the available bicycles. Just cycled around, stop somewhere for a cup of chai. Passing oxcharts loaded with ricestraw. See the people working on the mustardfields and see how in the villages people threshing the rice and herding sheeps. If cycling is not an option for you, there is also a good option to organise transport with the electric rikshaw of the family. There is a lot to see in Santiniketan, Bolpur and in the surrounding.
Great atmosphere, rooms were very airy, fantastic food and great hospitality. Would for sure go back again.
