“House and view were great”
Reviewed 26 August 2018 for a stay in August 2018

The house was very comfortable and the family were very comfortable. The view from the living room was great. A short walk to the sound and my dog had his best vacation ever. The house is close to the shop and hotel, which is a plus and a downside due to the traffic. Enjoyed our stay and look forward to the next visit to Scotland.

“Stunning views”
Reviewed 25 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

After reading the previous review I have to disagree with most of what was said. Whether the owners acted on the negative comments I cannot say however we arrived and had a different opinion, the house I will agree is dated in style however it was spotless new carpet in hall, fairly new white goods in a very well equipped kitchen everything was clean even the grass in the garden was cut while we were there beds had new toppers and white bedding again spotless good sized television with sky, DVD player,CD player and a small library of books oh and there was a visitors book dated from 2015 up to the present with not one negative review stunning views over the water

“house was very dirty”

The area was lovely and worth the drive, but in the 12 years we have being doing holiday cottages this is by far the worst we have come across, from the carpets, cupboards and the beds were all filthy.
The garden is advertised as dog friendly, but is completely overgrown.
As far as my wife, myself and our companions are concerned this property should be taken off the holiday rentals.
Its the first holiday property we have had which did not have a visitors book

“Well equipped house but dreadful carpets”

The house is well equipped and has great views, nice garden space and plenty of space. It is well worthy if you don't bother about breathing. Its carpets are very old, dirty and a huge habitat of dust mites. As a result, you can easily feel the heavy air in the house once you get in. We stayed for a full week regretting for not having chosen a hotel or something else habitable. I suffer from allergic asthma, which gets bad with pollution or dust mites, and I had a very bad time through all holiday in this place, as the weather forced us to stay a long time indoor. Couldn't sleep well and had to take asthma medication every 3-4 hours through all week. Normally, I take medication 2 or 3 times a month, when going to London or some other polluted place. If this place was not so far from my home, I would have certainly got back before finishing the holiday. Also, they made us prepay all the stay, without refund...

“Homely bungalow with 5-star views over Sound of Mull”
Reviewed 26 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The large picture window in the lounge gave amazing views across to Mull and islands beyond, with constantly-changing sea and skies, and promise of wildlife. We saw dolphins on our first morning, and otters on the shore.

The cottage is spacious, well equipped and very evidently a family home. It lies within five minutes' walk of the village store and we enjoyed living on local produce for the week. The house manager lives nearby and is very helpful. The Kilchoan blog lists daily wildlife sightings and events. On the down side, décor and furnishings were quite tired and old-fashioned, with carpets and rugs visibly worn, and another time we would take our own towels. The third bedroom, with single bed and bunks, would be fine for young children but not ideal for single occupancy as no bedside table or storage.
