“Basic but amazing location”
Reviewed 8 September 2018 for a stay in August 2018

We enjoyed our stay at keepers cottage. The facilities are basic and in need of updating. However we only had to look out the window at the sea eagles on the rocks to remind ourselves why we had gone there. We also saw otters, minke whales and dolphin from the light house. Davie who manages the lighthouse cafe and Cottages was around every day and very helpful. There water supply is private filtered from a burn. Therefore brown and not suitable for drinking. We took bottled water for hot and cold drinks and cooking. One day the supply stopped three times due to air lock in pipe. Davie was on site the first two times and came to sort straight away. The third time was in the evening but Davie came back within half an hour.
We would recommend this Cottage if you want somewhere remote and off the beaten track but don’t mind basic facilities. 5 stars for location and adventure factor. 4 stars overall as Cottage could be updated a bit.

“Spectacular location ”
Reviewed 17 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We had a week at the lighthouse April 2018. The location is second to none. Views are spectacular from the lighthouse and Sanna beach with its white sand is beautiful. Accommodation is basic and tired, it's in need of some TLC but this didn't stop us enjoying the holiday. People visit the lighthouse day and night which can be a surprise when you are tucked up in bed and someone appears. Fantastic location and would love to visit again now that we know what to expect.

If you want to get away from it this is the place , brilliant stunning views fantastic wildlife , the cottage is brilliant for those wanting some connection to the outside world it has wi-fi and sky tv but no mobile coverage , A small shop in the village ferry across to Mull for more shops, Limited fuel so fill up before you cross the Corran Ferry as you pay a lot more for it , a fantastic area to explore

“I always wanted to stay in a lighthouse !”

An unusual location ,scenery and views breath-taking, the keepers cottage is cosy ,warm, practical and dog friendly with a good library of books and games and sky TV. Constructed to keep the weather at bay, inside it is wonderfully silent. Information and instructions routes and advice to locate and use the cottage relevant.

You must plan your week, plan your menus, make sure you have fuel in your car as you are so isolated, to get anywhere or anything you have to travel some distance ! Few marked paths on peninsular so map reading experience is essential, and care whilst out and about is important, even in the height of the season Ardamurchan peninsular is quiet and you meet few people on your travels.

“Stunning views”

We have never stayed in a lighthouse cottage before and it was just great. Surrounded on 3 sides by water the best part was when everyone had gone home and you had the place to yourself in the evenings. Cottage is a little basic but oozes character and history, is warm, spacious and well equipped. You have to enjoy a little isolation but that is part of the charm of a stay here
