Set in a beautiful spot this is the perfrect way to chill out. The spacious and comprehensively equipped tent was very comfortable and warm even of a chill autumn morning. All creature comforts catered for and lots to do and great places to eat in the local area. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to escape to the country.
The tent was far bigger and better than we had expected and we had a really relaxing holiday. With just 2 tents on either side of a huge field it was totally private.
The views were stunning and the log burners were very easy to get going providing hot water all day.
Buffy made us feel very welcome and at home; the Thomas Lord pub in the village was excellent and had good vegetarian choices, particularly enjoyed Pizza night.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday to anybody.
6 of us stayed for 4 nights in Lapwing. 4 adults and 2 kids. The tent is lovely, very comfortable and clean. The cupboard bed is big enough for two adults and very cozy. Plenty of firewood was provided and the wood burner to heat the shower was a breeze to get going. The view from veranda is stunning. Rolling fields with a church tower in the distance. Evening BBQ outside our tent, lunch at the Thomas Lord in the village, a walk along the Meon Valley Trail, kite flying in the field, den building in the woods... the kids had a whale of a time and we couldn't have been happier. We were sad to leave and will definitely be back. Many thanks to Buffy for providing us with such a brilliant holiday.
Brocklands is fabulous, 360 degree views of rolling hills, farmland and woods. The safari tent is well laid out with all the things you could want to enjoy a self catering holiday. Thoughtful touches such as marshmellows to toast on the fire pit, really added to the experience for the children. My 5 year old voted in the best holiday ever. it was great to see the children explore the area on their own and to have the freedom to do so. There is one other tent across the other side of the field but it always felt as if you were on your own. Quite magical. There is plenty to do in the local area but if you don't want to eat out or cook yourself you can always ask Buffy and she will arrange a home cooked meal - well worth the money, good portions and really tasty.
The tent itself is clean and well equipped with logs for the bunners (hot water and cooking) there were wild flowers and cake on our arrival with plenty of coffee (ground) milk and bread to get you going. Its a much slower pace of life and sitting on the decking watching the barn owl at dusk was wonderful. The children didn't miss the TV, we played games and read books - it was a great way to unwind, play with the children, relax and have fun. I would definitely go back and recommend to all. I don't like camping, but I love glamping!
We have just returned from the most idyllic glamping trip at Brocklands farm. The views there are truly breathtaking and the location couldn't have been more perfect. We went with another family who stayed at the opposite end of the field. The tents were the perfect distance apart to allow privacy when needed but close enough to share meals, play time and for the children to run back and forth independently- which they loved. So rare these days to be so isolated you feel completely safe letting your children enjoy such freedom! We did all the usual camping activities: BBQs, melting marshmallows, collecting firewood. On the days we ventured out, we discovered the wonderful Thomas Lord pub in the local village (great grub), and a fantastic trip to Emsworth to go crabbing was a highlight. The children loved pulling huge numbers of crabs out of the sea, and the crab races!
Buffy made us feel so welcome. Delicious cake and bubbles were left for us on arrival. The tents are very well equipped for a very comfortable stay, the beds super snug. It was so perfect we are going to make it an annual break away! It really is a hidden gem.
