We booked in for a cosy weekend away and could not have found a better place! Check in was 4pm but we had a message early afternoon saying it was ready when we are if we wanted to come a bit earlier and also had details of how to find them sent through (very easy to follow). The cottage itself is just beautiful with a well equipped lounge and kitchen area with all the mod cons, a lovely mezzanine bedroom and bathroom. Its gorgeous with all the beams and original features but has everything you need for those home comforts. The welcome pack of milk, bread, juice etc was a nice touch (I also asked for some bubbles to be put in the fridge and was rewarded with a great bottle and a very reasonable rate). There is a small private garden/courtyard with a BBQ which would be great in summer but pretty even in autumn. One of the owners, Kurt, met us on arrival for a meet and greet and showed us the cottage details and the info packs - great packs that actually tell you what you really need to know about the area. We tried both the Indian and Irish Tapas bar in the village that were recommended and both were excellent as was the local pub....its great having places so near (3 mins walking) without having to go into Stratford itself, saying that it was only a 15 min river taxi (great local commentary!) or a 20 min walk into Stratford. We cannot wait to stay again....its pretty much perfect.
Cosy cottage with all the facilities that we needed. Within an easy walk of Stratford town centre which we love to visit. The cottages are very private, with good parking which helped as we had bought our mountain bikes. The area is great for cycling , especially the Stratford Greenway which is a 12 mile dedicated cycling route with pubs and cafes on the way, which was a great way to spend the Sunday. This was our second stay at the Bolt Hole Cottage within a month, and we will definitely come back again. The owners are very friendly, and you must say "Hello" to their dog Charlie.....he's gorgeous !!
