Description: Welcome to The Award Winning Maldon Tandoori Our restaurant was established by my brother and myself in 1987 following the vision of our father who had a passion for cooking. The main cuisine is Indian/ Bangladeshi. Being from Bangladesh we have great expertise in traditional home-made food and regularly promote Bangladesh nights bringing the authentic foods to our customers. We serve dishes made to customer's specific requirements, including anything from mild chicken Korma to hot and spicy chicken Naga. Our most popular dishes are Tandoori chicken Bhuna Balti and Tandoori King Prawn Jalfrezy Balti. We only use the finest king prawns from Bangladesh which are noted for their freshness and size. Many of our ingredients are sourced locally, although some specialist ingredients come from our suppliers in East London. We have many customers as friends at Maldon Tandoori and hope to make many more. We hope to see you soon.

Pleasant curry house in Maldon my son and i visited on a Saturday evening and despite being busy the staff were very attentive. The food was good and reasonably priced. A very enjoyable curry

This is consistently the best Indian restaurant in Maldon.
We had a chilli egg curry, which is a bit hot, but the eggs take the edge off it to make it the best curry I've ever had (and I'm quite old!) and a chicken tikka jalfrezi balti, which my husband says is amazing.
Everyone there is so friendly and efficient, the surroundings are lovely and softly lit, so relaxing, but the food is so good it's always the star off the show.
We can't recommend this place highly enough.

Friends of ours were recommended to try the Maldon tandoori so being curry lovers we visited on a freezing December night. Standard pomp’s and dips were ok but then the meals....byriani was dry and the accompanying sauce was a less than adequate portion..spicy garlic chicken and the chicken balti both had far too much oil, chicken was tough and chewy in both and taste was a little sharp. Onion bhajjis were crispy outside but so large that had far too much soft filling inside, naans were also good on the outside but far too doughy overall. Bombay and Saag aloos were also underwhelming with little taste.

Service ok and friendly but we want good quality food!

After reading other reviews maybe we just had a one off bad experience but we won’t be going back as there is so much better Indian (Bangladeshi) food to be had in the area.

We went to take a table here with some friends at about 9.30pm one friday evenin. One of our party informed us that Maldon Tandoori closes early now and doesn't accept custom after 9pm.
What's that about??
It's a great restaurant but sometimes a beer or two first makes for a good evening.

On this occasion we ate accross the road at The House of Delight, equally good.

I just don't understand the early closing policy.
