The glass factory was the first stop on a half day tour of Venice. The group was ushered into the factory for a demonstration where a vase and a small ornamental horse were made. The factory guide spoke excellent English and described all of the steps involved in making the objects.
Afterwards, we were directed to the sales floor where there was more elaboration on their finished glass products. We were then free to peruse the items in the large showroom - often accompanied by a salesperson. They did not, however, employ high-pressure sales tactics.
My wife ended up buying a small dish for 170€. The wrapping for transportation in our luggage back to Canada was absolutely "bulletproof".More
