It is a large ancient archeological site (a tepe or Persian tappeh, "hill" or "mound") in a suburb of the city of Kashan, Isfahan Province, in central Iran, close to Fin Garden. The culture that inhabited this area has been linked to theZayandeh River Culture. The Sialk ziggurat was built around the 3000 BC. Sialk, and the entire area around it, is thought to have first originated as a result of the pristine large water sources nearby that still run today. The Cheshmeh ye Soleiman ("Solomon's Spring") has been bringing water to this area from nearby mountains for thousands of years.

is the remains of an ancient city, with the world's oldest zigurat, dating to the 3rd millennium BC. The oldest settlement in Sialk dates back to more than 7000 years ago. The site is still under excavation. The remains of people who used to live there can be seen.

For me, a history and culture nut, this place is terrific. It's on the outskirts of Kashan and there is nothing else there but the remains of the archeological dig and a tiny museum but, wow, at 5,000 years it's one of the oldest permanent religious buildings on the planet. There are only a few exhibits in the one-room museum, but they are truly excellent, and some date to well before the ziggurat was built, indicating a permanent settlement maybe 6,000 to 7,000 years old. Wow. For those who like that sort of thing.

Not that much to see as they very wise have covered most until there has been developed better equipment to safely excavate and protect the city. But you can see some items and skeleton as well as buying and guided tour in English.
Excavated started in 1933 by a team of European archaeologists, Tepe Sialk is the oldest of four ziggurats in Iran constructed by the Elamite civilization. Dating back some 7,500 years, it is a testament to an ancient civilization that was sophisticated beyond its time.
Advancement in pottery and tools, which indicated signs of trade, literacy of the proto-Elamite cuneiform script, and an ability to make bronze. The construction of the ziggurat was further proof of development

It was a ancient city, but unfortunately it's only some ruins now. You can visit the small museum. You can't find a perfect information about it. It wasn't interesting for me.

Sialk is a hill in the city of Kashan around which remnant of 8000 years of history has been found. It is now well fenced and is like a compound which can be explored. The closing time is 6:30, which I think is very soon, specially in summer
