Wife and I met friends for dinner and stayed in December 2016, and I returned with my son to have dinner recently. Very nice. Our Swedish friends think highly of it.
This is a famous landmark hotel located above the second largest lake in Europe making for fabulous views. Interestingly, not built on the remains of an old castle, it is a hotel built in 1930s I think to look like a castle turned hotel (explained by a local; builder may have been in royal family). Truely adds old world ambience and charm reminiscent of a royal hunting lodge. We stayed in the annex, which was accommodating enough with fantastic views, but was nothing special, except for the view. You pay $$$ for the name. But the main building was really neat with dark wood, period furniture, salon and terrace overlooking he lake. Dinner was outstanding although very pricey. This place is a must see. Romantic too.More
