I had a very memorable 8 days at Tigergarh. This was between 20th and 27th of Dec 2011. The reception we received, on arrival was very warm. I am missing all the good food I had there. It was a good mix of Indian and continental cuisine. My son was mostly enjoying various kinds of sandwiches, rolls, and mild gravies with rice. Breakfast was a very exciting time, as more and more food would arrive on the table. My weight reduction regime was well maintained with low calorie food, and low sugar desserts. They use local organic produce, and also those from their vegetable patch. The cottages are comfortable, stylish, and very spacious. They have huge windows for the sunlight to come in and i liked the huge washroom too, which is quite contemporary in style. The staff is courteous and very helpful. The place is well maintained. The hills surrounding the resort are very dreamy. There are several seating areas in the huge garden, where one can enjoy reading a book, writing a book, while sipping some black coffee; and with a view of the hilly jungle. The only bit that i missed was, I was unable to swim in the pool, as it was really cold for me. I did not fancy a dip in 4 degree centigrade temperature.

Room Tip: Two of the cottages rooms are as if the hills are quite close and this i like as i had a feeling tha...

We drove from Katni by Road through the undulating and sometimes a slightly Kuccha road surrounded by beautiful trees & lush green Jungles, we reached our Destination – Tigergarh resort. What was in store for us was completely unexpected.
The resort entrance resonated with the holy bells as just at the entrance was a beautiful temple, reassuring us the sanctity of the place. We were led by the manager to the room which had unusually rustic feel from its verandah itself. It was nostalgic to see the same old black flipper type switches and a spacious, lighted room which smelt pleasant. The beds take you back to the days of Raj, what with Four post & satin curtains. The bathrooms were huge & neatly maintained & the striking feature was the huge Glass window from which you could admire the vast lush green expanse while showering away your tiredness.
The restaurant was designed creatively & aptly named the waterhole & had an unusual wall constructed with used beer bottles, keeping Green structures in mind.
The meals were a combination of tasty Indian & continental cuisine & the portion sizes are fairly large, being part of the package offered.
The best was yet to come, next day early morning we headed out in the jungle for morning Safari & tiger spotting & were very fortunate to spot one within 1 hour of the Safari. The next was even better, one the largest Tiger in Bandhavgarh National park, B2 was strolling in his Majestic glory very close to the drive way as if he was oblivious to the no. of Gypsies following his walk & clicking away to glory.
All in all we had a completely relaxing and rejuvenating holiday at Tigergarh & would like to return at the next possible opportunity.

Room Tip: All the cottages offer you a amazing view
