Yes and this line tells that what the cities today placed far apart and treated much differently are the cities which have been treated differently now just because being in different states .. that includes the extra toll you have to pay to cross the cities which are just an hours distance like Orcha
Jhansi city of MANU aka ZHSI KI RANI
Yes this fort is also equipped by the light and sound show in the voice of Sushmita sen and Amrish puri and one thing I learnt from Orcha is that these shows are really worth watching they let the history peniterate into you and get it hard coded .
The fort is now trying to be well maintained . after being ruled by gangadhar & lakshmibai this was under the custody of the british officers who did amendments in the fort as required by them. From the top of fort you could really see the places like temple where lakshmi bai used to visit regularly from where the britishers attacked and all that sort of information .(PIC of machine gun)
Yes this fort has a TOPE which still has the BAROOD in it from the time of Queen of Zhasi and it is kept at the door. Not only that the fort still has the one among the first machine guns of the time

You can see the place from where the queen jumped on her horse with her adopted son and trust me you will really like to salute the young women for what she has done for the country for her motherland .After that when she went to Kind of Gwalior who not only stabbed her at the back but also didn’t …. Well and that rage is still there with the people in the city against Gwalior princely family which inturn justifies what why Sindhiyas avoid to visit the city.
So in the fort we still have a place where daily Indian national flag is flown J wow that makes me feel proud from core of my heart to salute the lady infact a teen who has brought in the revolution .
In short you are going to love the place to read more in detail log into http://creativedarshan.blogspot.com/2011/01/salute-to-jhansi-ki-rani-lakshmi-bai.html

We went to the Jhansi Fort in October this year. This 17th century fort was made by Raja Bir Singh on top of a hill as an army stronghold. The Karak Bijli tank is within the fort.

Jhansi, on National Highway No. 25 and 26, is linked by a good network of roads and railways. We travelled by the Shatabadi Express which is one of the fastest luxury trains in India. It is the best way to travel to Jhansi as it has stops at major cities such as Delhi, Bhopal, Agra and Gwalior.

From the railway station, auto rickshaws are available to take you to the fort. The fort looks very grand and majestic. The lawns of the Fort are lush green and are a great place to relax and have a picnic. We were joined by many squirrels, who we had fun feeding.

Only thing to beware about - monkeys. These naughty animals have a habit of snatching your picnic basket and running away.
