“shirdi sai baba- basic information”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2011

After having darshan of gajanan maharaj & visiting anandsagar in shegao, we started for shirdi by bus (2 by 2) at 11.00 pm & reached at 7 am in shirdi. We booked a lodge very near to the gate no 3 of temple, & after freshup, moved for darshan at 8.30am. We kept the camera, mobile, valets in room only as they are not allowed inside premise. It was only less than 5 min walking distance to reach the temple. There was a big line but it was moving fast. Sitting arrangement was there beside the queue where u can take rest. Stalls selling fast food & even milk for children were available in queue. We found special arrangements like VIP darshan for old peoples & other needy ones. One can have darshan of glowing face of Sai Baba from long away in the huge hall. There were 4 lines for darshan near the idol, 2 central lines having U turn on reaching the front of idol & remaining 2 going by the side of idol leading to the back. It is better to stand in the side lines so that u can namaskar the foot impression made, & have longer & nearer darshan of Sai Baba. We were lucky to complete darshan by 10.30 am & then after returning to room & having little breakfast, we headed for Shani shingnapur. Local sumo was available @ Rs 60/person for covering 60km in 1.30hrs. On reaching there, we found many peoples taking bath & wearing saffron coloured cloth (available with prasad) before having darshan. The queue finally reached to the idol of Shani Maharaj with no shed above & pandits were helping devotees to offer oil on idol. We returned to Shirdi at 4.00 pm & then moved to bhandara for lunch around 1 km from temple. Amazing arrangement, thousands of peoples taking lunch at a single time, cleanliness & hygiene maintained throughout. First take coupons from counters outside @ Rs 5/person, & then enter the huge dining hall. By 5.30 pm, we were in our room taking rest & at 7.00pm, we took our sleep coach bus for hometown, Nagpur, Maharashtra. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

“Great place to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2011

We reached Shirdi in the afternoon and stood in the queue. It took about two hours to get the darshan of Shri Saibaba. It was a thursday and many people were there to get the darshan. We gave some offerings which the volunteers there took and put it on the baba samadi and gave back to us. On the way back we bought some photoes of sai baba and also ate in a nearby restaurant.

“Great devotion... Visit god of all religions...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2011

Saibaba is god of all religions and one can have Darshan of sai baba in a calm and good environment. It is located near Mumbai (overnight journey from Mumbai) and Pune. Cheap one-day hotels available plenty. From here, one can plan to visit Shani shinganapur (God of Shani) and Nashik.

“Shirdi Sai baba darshan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2008

We reached Manmad train station in the night around 11.30 pm and we came to know that buses to Shridi are available only in the morning after 4 am. Fortunately we met another family from Bhopal and we hired a Taxi at 620 Rs. Taxis are available round the clock at the Manmad station. Shridi is around 60kms from Mamnad.
We reached Shirdi around 1.30 am and got an AC room at 700 Rs in the temple parisar itself. We went in the November end and non AC rooms were not availble in the temple parisar. Rooms were very clean.

We got ready around 3.15 am for 4.30 aarti. The distance to temple was just 5 min walk and we reached in the temple hall around 4.00 am. Bhajans started and we saw full aarti and darshan until 5.45 am. We went back to the room and got ready again for Shani Shinganapur at 8 am. You can get Sumo outside the temple and they charge 60-80 Rs (to and fro). We got back from the Shani temple around 2.30 pm and had prasad at Bhandara and went back to room around 3pm.

We got ready for Nasik around 6 pm and got a bus outside the temple which charged us 80 Rs per head to Nasik. You can also get Sumo from the Shridi bus stand.

We stayed in a hotel near Mukti dhaam and got ready at 6am to go to Triambkeshawar. You can hire a taxi or can take a bus from Nasik bus stand. We had darshan and then we also visited near by temples and gupt godawari nadi.

We started again around 9 am from there and went to Mukti dhaam which a must see temple in Nasik.

Finally we took a train back from Nasik train station at 12 am.

There are other places to see in Nasik such as Panchvati, Bhakti dhaam etc so it is advised to plan atleast one full day for Nasik.
