The hotel is located well near the market area, about 5-7 minutes away. The place is extremely clean, peaceful and bright. Perfect for a family holiday and couples as well. We went in the 2nd week of May. The breakfast is simple but good. Serves pure VEG only. However, we surveyed the other places around mount abu, but got back to kesar Bhawan.......ideal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is very reasonably priced and the food served is fresh and tasty. The staff is very homely and well mannered. We loved the place and stayed there for about 6 days. Cleanliness - 10/10. Food -(although limited variety) - 9/10, Service - 10/10. All in all, an excellent place for a family holiday. Only thing lacking to give it a 10/10 is the swimming pool. But the place is so good that one does not feel the need for a swimming pool.

Room Tip: Superior Deluxe room

I was suggested this hotel by a colleague and i also went through the Trip Advisor feedbacks before choosing this hotel. A great place which is peaceful, extremely well located near the market, lake, sunset point and reasonably priced. The rooms are large, vegetarian food only though had a good taste. Service is an issue but when you are on a holiday you do not mind it. The buffet breakfast is very limited but takes care of the basic hunger. F&B is also reasonably priced.

Room Tip: If you are travelling on a smaller budget, go ahead and book the rooms on the lower side which will...

We booked 8months ago, when we arrived the front desk tried to dish us to lower category rooms, when we challenged them, then suddenly rooms were available.
Be careful when booking as they charge you the same and put you up in new rooms which are no way what you are paying for. Food is fresh, but the word service doesnt exist, breakfast at 8means, the kitchen starts at 8!
Good property but lacks in running the show.

Room Tip: Book only if rooms available in the main property, Not the outhouse rooms.

The Hotel is situated on a small hillock & has a good view of the natural side of Mt abu. The rooms are very spacious & have ample area for 2-3 families to sit & chat late into the night, coz thats what we did when we went there in may this year. We were 4 friends reuniting after a long time & had brought our families along. The hotel check in was a breeze, initial service was good & the rooms were clean. The hotel has a nice big space in the middle for children to play & our Kids enjoyed it a lot. Its very near to the Main Market & lake ( just arond 5-10 minutes walk) & there are special small trolleys used to ferry kids right upto the Hotel gates ( Kids enjoyed it). The parking space is sufficient & the Food is good although the service time is unusually long. The Owner & his family stays at the top floor & hence the place is well maintained. The Credit card machine at the hotel doesnt work so take Cash along!
All in all a nice place to be if you are not looking for a very modern styled room!

Stayed with a group of friends for 2 nights in July 2011. Booked directly by emailing the hotel.

We had 5 rooms on the first floor in the main building. The rooms are quite large, clean and bright with big airy windows. The bathrooms had a tub and basic toiletries. The little balcony sitout was nice, try to get a room on the back of the building overlooking the valley for some great views. These are also quieter than the rooms overlooking the parking lot. The monsoon mist rolling in is especially pretty. Aircon worked fine, but TV reception was iffy. They also have 2 suites with a downstairs living area and a bedroom upstairs, very nice.

We drove down so location was not a problem for us but the hotel is not too far from the main town. Plenty of parking space. A little garden at the back and a play area for kids, lots of room to just walk around. It was raining when we went but in winter a campfire / outdoor dinner could be nice.

The biggest problem was a total lack of service. The intercoms did not work and we had to keep running around the hotel hunting for staff. The simplest request took ages to fulfil, if at all. No hot water at all for 2 days despite several complaints.

The restaurant serves vegetarian food only with eggs possible for breakfast. Lunch took 2 hours to be served. There was just one person cooking breakfast and serving it - one serving of fried eggs, then a couple of slices of toast 10 minutes later, then another serving 15 minutes later and so on. Food was just basic. Best to bring in your own drinks and snacks and eat elsewhere.

The hotel claims they accept credit cards but when we checked out they claimed the phone line was down and insisted on cash at the last minute. The manager even offered to send one of their staff members with us down to the nearest ATM ! A little checking showed that the card swipe machine had been disconnected and when we insisted it was connected back and the credit card payment accepted. This whole charade left a very bad taste.

This is a nice hotel in terms of location and rooms, just don't expect anything from the staff.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building with rooms at the back overlooking the valley. The suites are nice too if...
