Visited this resort to try out their Houseboat experience based on a recommendation from a friend.
The whole trip was a very average experience. We booked a houseboat for 11 people and started off on time. The boat was well maintained (not perfect but doable, clean to certain limits and acceptable for the day trip). While the trip was good as our first experience of Kerala's famous 'houseboat'-ing along the backwaters, the food was a disappointment. We were informed that one of the main factors to a good houseboat experience was the food. So ensure you have a good cook as it will make all the difference. The fish was overcooked and getting cold (obviously as they fried the fish first and waited till the other meals were ready) and the chicken was tasting funny. Food was not bad but below average. Welcome drink was some sugary lemonade and evening tea was some oily banana fry.
The captain and other crew (cooks and help) were polite and courteous giving us a bit of tour guidance as we sailed along but nothing improved the sad experience we had from the food.
Also, a big let down was to find out that the rooms were not equipped with AC which was very much needed in the March heat. Especially with a few old women and kids wanting to take a nap, they had to use the rooms uncomfortably.
Further more we found that the ACs were allowed only during the night within time limits and the night time trips themselves were limited due to regulations by the government for fishing. I still fail to understand how the usage of the ACs for a few hours would impact the cost of the boat that was running on generators.
Will reconsider before going back here again as there are several operators in the region and will definitely check more reviews next time.

Room Tip: Bargain a good package for an effective Houseboat experience. For the money charged we deserve it.

We stayed for one night. Not a lot to do in Kumarakom except backwaters.Hotel is just about clean, rooms are ok the staff are helpful. The hotel is located between canal and the Paddyfield. There is a pond for pedal boating.we had a houseboat for 2 hours to see the backwaters.Back water is ok for 30 minutes then everything looks the same. Food is good.

It was a terrible experience.I advice everyone not to go there. The rooms had scepage, the blanket and towels were dirty.Even the quantity and taste of the food was average.swimming pool was average.A horribe expereince we had there and the last of all there was a lot of smell.I would prefer tourists should avoid it for thier own good.

We gad booked 2 rooms. The rooms were small but had all the furniture. The furniture however was old with broken cupboard handles & sliding windows were jammed.

The bathroom was clean but the hot water was not available in the evening. The hotel has to start the boiler to get the hot water started. The hotel should consider that guests would look forward to a hot shower after a day of sightseeing.

There is boating available within a small pond in the hotel itself though we did not try it. There is an Ayurveda massage parlor within the hotel. We tried the head & face massage & it was good. The view from the room is the saving grace.

We had a view of the Kumarakom backwaters with frequent houseboats & shikaras passing by.

The swimming pool is close to the boating pond but didn’t look to be very well maintained. The staff was courteous & polite.

The restaurant was OK. The evening snacks were good but the dinner was not so good. The morning breakfast has limited options & the taste was also not too good.

Very close to the houseboat & shikara safari booking counters. The hotel can also manage the booking on your behalf.

Overall the hotel has a very good locations & the facilities are available. Only needs improvement.
