It’s a fantastic place with beautiful cottages and amazing scenery. The rooms are unique and comfortable. The pool is proper for adults and kids as it has different levels. The restaurant is nice and food is yummy. They have local cultural activities. The staff is friendly.

We were a large family (5 Adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children) who accidentally landed up at Coconut Lagoon and we struck Gold!
Our existing booking got cancelled when we landed at Kochi airport and we started looking for a place to stay on the way to Kumarakom in our self drive cars. It's roughly a 2 hour drive from the airport. One call to the CGH reservation number and we get a quote followed by a confirmation in 20 mins. So, we had a booking for 3 nights in the last 3 available rooms in a fully booked hotel and fully booked Kumarakom. 3 Heritage Bungalows with breakfast.
The delight began from the booking. On receiving the confirmation email, within a few minutes we got a call from the hotel reconfirming our booking, They whatsapped us a registration link. We whatsapped back our identity and vaccination proofs and our check-in was done!
The resort entry is via a waterway and we reached at 6:55pm and the resort boat service for pick up shuts at 6/6:30. However, they gladly extended it for us. We reached and our keys were ready. The front desk gave us our welcome drinks - coconut water and explained to us the various activities at the resort.
Our heritage bungalows were BIG with enough space to fit large families. We were 4 in one room, 3 in another and 2 in the third and all were comfortable. The room could easily take an extra bed. The bathroom was a large open to sky bathroom. Since this is an eco friendly resort (and it really is) all toiletries were in ceramic containers. Drinking water was in glass bottles (with RO filtered water). We didnt see any plastic in the resort during our stay which was so lovely. We also got to know that the resort has its own garden and they try to maximise usage of locally grown fruits and vegetables for their kitchen to reduce carbon footprint. So amazing!
Our typical day at the resort:
Breakfast: Good spread with selection of international and local options. Polite, prompt and courteous service. The amazing house coffee deserves a special mention.
Post breakfast: Either at the pool or for a massage or walk around the property. The resort is on the vembanad lake and one can just walk around, sit on the benches facing the lake and it is very calming. There is a butterfly garden in the resort which is host to plenty of butterflies - a must visit with the kids
Lunch: Should try the veg thali. It is sumptuous. Again, lovely service and lip smacking food
Evenings: Do take their free cruise on the lake. It is very serene and beautiful to watch the sunset on the cruise. We also did a 2 hour private cruise arranged by the resort. It takes a longer route in the lake and one can get to see different varieties of birds on the cruise.
At 4:30pm everyday, an elderly lady comes on a small boat through the pond within the resort with tea, coffee and light snacks. Its a cute experience to sit on the lawns and have tea with snacks
At 7:30pm the resort has a dance performance. Local artist perform for the guests and they are very talented
Dinner: We had buffet on two nights and a la carte on the third. We had everything that was on the menu and everything was delicious.
There is soothing live music everywhere at the resort. (1) When you check:in there is a staff member who plays the flute to welcome you. He also accompanies you on the evening cruise. He is so good that you feel relaxed all the time (2) In the restaurant there is live instrumental music. With delicious food, this music takes the ambience several notches higher!
There is also a recreation centre which has table tennis, chess and other board games. This is where we spent some time post our dinners.
Housekeeping is top notch. Rooms are cleaned twice and are spick and span.
If you are celebrating a birthday, don't forget to order a cake at the resort. We were celebrating my 5 year olds birthday. The resort arranged a cake with candles and the staff got together and sang a lovely traditional birthday song for her!

Overall, our accidental resort turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Highly recommend it to everybody. No cons here. Only great experiences. To re-iterate: The most lovely staff i have ever encountered. Simply Perfect Hospitality!

It was a childhood dream to stay at coconut lagoon, and 20 years later I wasn’t disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful - right from the traditionally designed rooms to the property itself with its view of Lake Vembanad.

For those looking for peace and quiet, it’s the perfect destination - offering sunset lake cruises (with a live flute artist on board!) and multiple nice walks (the property has a butterfly gardens and birds are always visiting from the nearby sanctuary). For those who need a little more action, there are multiple activities planned throughout the day from cultural performances to cooking etc. classes for adults and kids! And of course, there’s always the must-do Kerala massage!

Added bonus is the emphasis on sustainability with no plastic used on the property. Do go for the hotel walk and they will explain how the design of the hotel embraces sustainability deeply.
