“Wow!”
Reviewed 12 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

If you want to stay in a town house with a Wow factor this is a Gite for you. It would be nit picking to find any fault. The whole house is full of character, incredible style with a high degree of comfort.. The owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful week in Josselin. We hope you will do too!

What a great find this was!
Wonderful property furnished to the highest standard with all the modern amenities you would hope for!, fantastic position being less than a minutes walk from the square, the chateaux and the cathedral it couldn't be in a better place
The weather was great too which meant ( more the pity ) that we didn't need to light any of the three ( yes three ) log burning stoves throughout the house.
We have stayed in more than one or too holiday rentals in our time and would book this again without hesitation!!
So if you are planning a stay in this wonderful part of the world? Just hope it's available.

“A room with a view........”

The photographs already posted of this holiday rental are just as we found it. We enjoyed the space and the facilities of the house and the views from the bedroom, overlooking the Chateau. We rattled about in it ( as a couple), I imagine it would be just great for a big family, having two bathrooms and a great utility to keep up with the washing. Huge fridge and kitchen, everything you could wish for.
Excellent value considering the amenities on offer that include computer access, bed linen, towels and free landline calls.

Josselin proved to be the nicest, most charming and friendly town we visited during our week's stay in this district. So we were especially pleased to find ourselves located right in the heart of the town within an easy walk to all the attractions and a short drive from a huge supermarket/petrol station.

As already mentioned in another review, you can park in front of the house for unloading, and for short stays. There is a good free car park within a 10 minute walk.

The owner and Edward, who met us, are very approachable and helpful in every way. I am sure if you had a special request, they would make every effort to assist you.

A tip for those on a budget........ If you are looking for gift ideas, the Josselin supermarkets sell really good quality butter biscuits in official Quimper pottery design tins. You will pay twice as much in Quimper itself. I can also recommend the Saturday market and a speciality stall selling nothing but rectangles of wrapped 'spiced' cake which is made with honey and quality fruit, rather like a gingerbread. Delicious and well received by our friends and family.

This area is really geared up for the Brits, the supermarket had a small section of UK products - if you have Marmite withdrawal symptoms.

Liked best: Renting a property with some character, great facilities in a very good location
Liked least: Period bed frames shorter than modern ones.....One mattress was a bit too firm for our old bones - but all bedding was spotless

“Tranquility in a lovely medieval town”

We have had a lovely relaxed 12 nights in the beautifully newly renovated house . Great for trips out to the coast and then chilling out in the many creperies / restaurants . The chateau is wonderful as are bike rides along the canal.
We have been blessed with the weather so haven't done as much touring as planned , but chilled out !
The house is newly converted with 1m thick walls so it is really quiet , even being on the road .
It has a roof terrace and BBQ slightly overlooked , but the locals are really friendly . The chime of the church bells remind you that you are in civilisation. The restaurants are really good , and helpful , given our inadequacies of the language !
Tourist information is next door , and really helpful on places to visit .
It would have been lovely to have enjoyed the house some more and had the log burners on , but it was hot.... The house remains lovely and cool ... Lovely bathrooms and beautiful interiors .
Edward the owners brother in law is local and fantasticly helpful , nothing is too much trouble .
A really great escape to a lovely beautiful part of France .... Just wish we had another 2 weeks !
