La Colonial was a short 3 or 4 minute walk from our casa and recommended by our hosts. We were the only diners for much of our time on the veranda. Another couple walked in as we finished. Few tourists are finding their ways to the farther flung parts of Cuba right now, and while not good for the locals, it does give people like us elbow room and first pick of tables. Our fish and shrimp dinners were great. The accompanying congri and veggie plate was tasty, too. While not the best meal we had on our trip to Cuba, it was still very good. The cold water was appreciated as well! Our server was a lovely younger women who did her best to keep us satisfied and fed. The whole experience was worth a large tip. We recommend La Colonial - probably one of the better restaurants in Baracoa. Get to Cuba. It's not for everyone, especially those who want five star everything. We love it!
