Casa Camboni
Ranked #5 of 11 San Vito B&B and Inns
Reviewed 5 September 2016

Admittedly the pictures looked lovely and we were very excited about our trip, however, unfortunately we were forced to change our plans and shorten our trip due to family health issues. Despite not selecting the 'free cancellation' option, we thought the host would be understanding of our circumstances and waive or at least reduce the cancellation fee (100% of the booking price). However, this was not the case, despite us wishing to cancel over a week in advance of the trip. Not very impressed.

Good points:
1 - San Vito is a lovely village with all the needed amenities including easy parking, a restaurant and cheap pizzas. Easy to get to nice beaches by car.

2 - Casa Camboni is a restored house with beautiful features, just like the photos.

Bad Points:
Our bedroom was terrible.
1 - The bed was in a galleried area so the bathroom was downstairs. The stairs were narrow and noisy so it was impossible to not disturb your partner if one of uses the loo at night. The stairs include a wobbly handrail which did not give confidence either.

2 - our sleeping area was very hot at night as it has a super low ceiling (bumping heads even though I'm only 5ft 5). But using the air con solved one problem with another - the unit is next to the head of the bed, so could wind blew noisily (as it is so close to your head), all night. I had to put a sheet over my head.

These two issues did not provide for a good nights' sleep.

Breakfast:
1 - there was no freshly squeezed juice ever - only the long life stuff you get at any supermarket and some individual bottles of various juices. We were disappointed as it was mentioned in so many reviews.

2 - the cakes were packaged in long life packets or exposed biscuits (that were chalkily stale). The bread was fresh and there were 2-3 fruits from a fruit bowl.

Overall the spread was ok but the least impressive of all the others from a two week holiday (even against an agriturismo and a 2 star hotel).

Finally, the room was never serviced in a three night stay. We didn't really care but cheaper places all did this, and from how this place is reviewed and marketed we were surprised.

We stayed in this B&B on a spontaneous trip to Sardegna to enjoy some sun. Choosing I Glicini was a matter of luck, as the first two places I called didn't answer the phone on the first try, but I didn't have time to call again, I needed something confirmed quickly - so I tried my first choice and got the room for the time I needed it. What a great surprise when we got there, in the middle of San Vito, a small town in the hill country of south-east Sardegna, you find this B&B enveloping around a great green patio. The working area of old family house of Cristiano, the host, has been turned into 5 gracious rooms with all you need for an extremely enjoyable stay: what made the difference to us was Cristiano with his great suggestions for beaches and places to go for dinner. If back in the area will definitely choose this place again.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with windows on the patio but not the one with the balcony if you are extra sensiti...

I spent only one night in this fabulous house managed by a very attentive guy. The rooms are lovely, clean and quiet. The breakfast (and apparently also the dinner...) are wonderful, ended by some biological oranges locally producted and perfectly sweety. Do not hesitate if you are in Muravera region.
