“Fabulous resort, fun for family...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2012

This is lovely resort right in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. The resort is complete with supermarkets, restaurants, gelaterias, several swimming pools, fitness centres and a whole lot more. Their restaurant serves some of the best tuscan food you can get. Also, you'll love the onsite gelaterias. There's water aerobics everyday in the pool which is fun. They also have a disco which we did not try. We stayed at the Canvas mobile homes, which were very clean & good and in a really nice location close to the restaurants, shopping centre & the pool. Please take their day trips to Florence as well as Pisa & Luca. The guide Liz is lovely English woman who is multilingual, bubbly & very informative. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting the Tuscan countryside....

We's stayed here for 15 nights in sep 2003 .. it was a chance discovery on google that we booked with them .
We'd wanted to book the chalets ( which were completely sold out then ) but couls manage only a mobile home ! Well considering that we don't have anything like this in India ... it made our stay quite exciting and special .
The Mobile homes were rather well equipped and tidy , they have a little provision store within the resort ( we found that rather helpful , since we were doing our own cooking ) , the views of the vineyard and the mountains are simply to die for !
They say Italy calls you back .. i don't know about that but , " Norcenni Girasole Club " for sure does :)

We traveled here in July, Family of 5 ,(kids 10, 7 3). The campsite itself, is very Hilly, which is to be expected as you are in the Tuscan Hills. There is a 'train' that brings you up from the bottom of the park to the main pool area. The pool is the best one I have visited as it had a fast lazy river, small slides and a great toddler area. There is a pool at the bottom of the park but it is obviously older and is quite deep and not suitable for younger kids.

The big downer for us was we chose to book the on site bungalows which are old, shabby and you dont get a barbaque!!!! a big let down. There is also a very dangerous play ground adjacent to the bar/resturantits too small for the busy area and always crowed, every night some kid got hurt.

The Bar and resturant are good value and lively there is also an excellent pizza take away, thats always busy.

There are loads of reasonable exercsions off the campsite including Florence and Rome all day trips, and a fantastic Wine trip in the Hills. some fantastic walled cities in the area including Arezzo, Sienna and San Gimigano, all within driving distance. With a bit of research you can get to some nice beaches both north and south of Pisa.

To be honest we came accross this complex by accident i suppose . But i have to say i could do with more "accidents" like this !
We had orig planned a camping holiday in england for may 2011 but the weather forcast was so bad we decided the day before to come up with another plan !
I had never been to Italy before but had always wanted to but the high price had put me off a little .
After a cheap flight to Pisa we hired a car and off we went to find the site , aprox 120 miles away . On arrival we had booked a "super tent " on line for a very reasonable price but on viewing we were both very disapointed to be honest ! So we hit the bar to drown our sorrows with the weather being quite depressing that day also . The following morning the clouds had dissapeared and the sun shone brightly and off we went to sort out our problem . For a small amount extra we upgraded to a mobile home which just seemed a SO much better ie a shower , a proper bed , a patio and by a nice stream overlooking deer in the fields above . wooo hooo we thought ! The site is very large and we found it interesting walking around looking at all the other types of touring units ( which is what were into when in england ) the swimming pools were amasing ( 2 ) the views accross to another range of hills in the distance is lovely and it had a couple of nice bars and shops . The local town is ok and has good rail links to florence which we put to good use . We did a couple of "trips" from the site "evening meal in florence " and full day " Rome" i have to say i thought Rome was an amasing place , with plenty of "wow" moments . So all in all a great holiday to a lovely country for a economical price , it does,nt get better than that ! On a negative note , i personally would,nt visit the complex in peak season as i feel it is so large ( holds 1,500 units ) that i,m sure it would,nt be as peacfull as we found it in mid may , also the cost of living when out enjoying "italy" is expensive especially if you are not carefull were you eat or drink but having said that we have no regrets at all with our " Italian adventure" !

Room Tip: lots of choise , research first

My husband and I normaly tour America or cruise but we fancied something differant and booked through thomson al fresco and cannot rate this camp high enough. Both the al fresco staff and the staff on the camp were all very good. We travelled in June so there was always plenty of room round the pools and in the restaurants. We did most of our food shopping in the supermarket on site and did not find it any more expensive than the uk and you got a free bottle of wine every time you spent more than 20 euros I agree with others that the camp is very steep and it may be a problem in the heat or with small children although our mobile home was not far from the pool and restaurant and was very clean and well equipped but we did have one for six people and there was only the two of us. The only bad thing for us was it rained almost every day the first week we were there but it made us get out and visit lots of places Cortona and Volterra were both nice and not so full of tourists as the more popular places also visited the commonwealth war graves cemetary near Florence and also the American world war 2 cemetary also near Florence on main road to Sienna both kept immaculate. Flew to Pisa and hired a car and plan to go to again..
