There's really very little to do Cava D'Aglia - and that's why we liked it. We tried a few of the beaches in the area but kept coming back to the bay in the centre of the village - the water was so clean there were even fishes by the beach.

Where was everyone? :) The town was quite quiet (though I can imagine peak season to be teaming), it was out of season, so with a meal in a friendly and inexpensive then back to the quiet beach to paddle the swim in a sea that must have been around 22 deg., walk up the clean and sandy beach to sit in the sun (it was around 32 deg then so chilly as far as the locals were concerned?!) then back to the car for a drive back through Scicli to Modica).

Cava d'Aliga is a nice beach where i go every time i can when i'm in sicily.
there are many young people palying many kind of sports.
tha majority of people are locals from Scicli.
there you can know how really locals peope are.
i like them.
in the beach there is a good pizzeria "maracaibo". good but slow. but very good.
i like to go in this beach from 1,30 to 04.00 pm in the afternoon when there are less people and the sun is super strong! amazing!

in the side of the beach there is a small rocky part where you can snorkel. easy.

We spent 4 days in Cava d'Aliga, using it as a base for visiting the baroque cities nearby.
The beach seemed really univiting, lots of seaweed and a run down restaurant. We therefore opted for the beaches in Azzize and Sampiero. The place itself doesn't offer much at all in the way of shops or restaurants. Our mainstay was the little salumeria/bar on the mainroad to Scicli (Marrakech) where we had our morning coffee and bought amazing lunches prepared by the Signora.
