Very nice hotel a bit out of the city centre, but stright on the way to the airport.
I arrived late night (or very early in the morning - 3 am) and everything was ready. Nice, big and confortable room (a bit noisy due to strong wind - last floor), breakfast room service perfect, but the variety of food was very limited...
After 5 days of nice living on D-Island I came back and I had the chance to have dinner and the food was excellent! Waitresses a bit poor in english but anyway we got what we ordered.

Friendly staff. Great value for money. Room was too hot. Had to sleep with window wide open. Asked Reception if they could have someone look at the AC but was told that there was nothing wrong with it. Breakfast & Restaurant food was of a good standard.

Having traveled to a lot of oilfiield towns in remote locations, was pleasantly surprised to fine that the Nur Plaza was a modern clean hotel. The bed was pretty hard, but bearable, overall the room was clean and adequately appointed, nothing fancy, but for the equvilant of $81 US a night not bad. Would stay there again if in Aktau...

Room Tip: Stay on the parking lot side if possiable, Air cons on pool side are loud...even on the 4th floor

I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference held at the premises. The room itself is OK, BBC world and all, bed is fine, airco OK. Shower is not getting hot. It was reasonably clean. Room service is not good, menu is very limited. Two colleagues got very sick from the hotel food, and kept being pestered by doctors. Pleasant bathrobes in the room. Toiletries: limited and so awfully smelling that you will have to bring your own. The weirdest thing is the outside area. The pool (only opens at 10:00 am..) is quite nice but I cannot imagine someone sitting on the unpleasant hot stone terrace surrounding it, with the very LOUD noise of the hotel's airco (could also be heard in my hotel room with windows closed, and I was not even closeby). Reception staff and other staff were rather unfriendly in almost all instances. No Kazak beer in the hotelbar but Heineken. If you have a conference in the hotel, beware of the earphones of the interpreting devices. They are very painful!

Yes there's a pool. Yes, you can get a massage. Yes there's a restaurant. But it is left entirely up to you to discover these things which does not help when ALL the staff, by the look on their faces, obviously are there to do the bare minimum work wise while customer service is overlooked. 5 star, definately not. Food is average and the showers mostly provide luke warm water 80% of the time. As mentioned before if you ask anything of the staff you are usually given the minimum of help. Laundry is prompt though and the cleaners turn over the room in double quick time. Plus techno pool sex party every Friday (Only for locals!) is very loud and continues until 6 am at least. But no, deffo not return if given choice.. 3/4 star
