“Surpassed our expectations which were already high”

This delightful cottage in the even more delightful village of Rothbury will not disappoint you. Close proximity to the wonderful and quaint shopping village of Rothbury. The surrounding walks are a nature lovers paradise. You feel as if you have gone back in time visiting this area and this is said as a good comment. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean (and my paid work in Australia is as a house keeper to a family so I think I can be relied upon to judge cleanliness). We stayed in cool weather and the heating was spot on, lovely hot water for showering and comfy bed with quality linen. Seems everything has been thought of. Much appreciated the welcome package of fresh bread, tea, milk etc as we had just arrived off a 36 hour flight from Australia. We were able to get over jet lag in the comfort of this glorious cottage. The internet was fast and reliable during our 4 night stay and parking on the street outside the church was always available. The security of the cottage is superb with its checking in system. If you are reading this comment do not look any further, this is a goodie. We long to return and will try and do so in 2015. Many thanks Rothbury and River Neuk.

“Excellent choice”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

River Neuk is an attractive and well equipped holiday apartment, situated in the delightful village of Rothbury. The local amenities are excellent and include a supermarket, bakery and family butcher. Rothbury is also ideally located for exploring Northumberland, being in the centre of the county and hence accessible both to the coast and the Cheviot Hills. There are some lovely local walks and Cragside House (National Trust) is nearby. The owners were very helpful and efficient and the property represents good value for money.

“River Neuk is a fabulous place to stay.”
Reviewed 4 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

The location of the property was so convenient to Rothbury centre and although parking was on the street it was never a problem. We have never undertaken self catering for our holiday in the past but River Neuk surpassed our expectations; it was immaculate and everything and more was there for our needs---- Great!.

“A well thought out comfortable cottage/flat with plenty of room”

A well thought out comfortable cottage/flat conversion with plenty of room. Everything you need to make your stay just right. Nicely decorated. Close to the village centre for shops and pub/restaurants and river bank. Ideal base for going out for walks and exploring the area. No on site car parking but easily found space on the road not far from the cottage/flat so this wasn't a problem. Dog friendly which is a big plus. Also good information file provided by the owners including suggested walks, where to go and what to see.
