This is a great place to stay. We spent the last days of our honeymoon here. The suits with sea view and private pool are absolutely amazing. You will get the "James Bond feeling" for sure
Staff attention, accomodation to enter the water, snorkeling equipment, room service and great breakfast. We very much recommend this place.

If you are looking for something different to a usual hotel, fantastic service and a very tranquil and peaceful setting then Cap Rocat is the place to go. We stayed here for a long weekend in April (4 nights) and very much enjoyed our holiday. From the moment you arrive the staff take care of everything (we just drove our hire car up to reception and got out and they whisk it away …and then bring it back as and when you want it).

The hotel is a converted fortress so offers some fabulous views across the bay to towards Palma and has been refurbished in an arabic style. We booked a suite with terrace and the room was large with a pleasant sitting area as well as a large bathroom with a lovely walk in shower. Immediately outside is a secluded terrace with chairs and table, you then climb some stairs to where the sun loungers are and then a couple more steps to where the day bed is and the views over the bay which were spectacular.

The hotel has a lovely restaurant (The Fortress) which primarily offers two seven course tasting menus (we tried one and it was fabulous) as well as a smaller menu in case you are staying for a few days and don't want the full tasting menu every night. You can order tapas dishes from the bar area and there is the Sea Club restaurant located above the beach but sadly this was closed for dinner as it was low season. You order breakfast the night before by completing a menu in your room. You can then just ring room service in the morning and tell them you would like your breakfast and where you would like it served (in the restaurant or on patio outside, down on the beach or on the terrace in your room) and it will arrive, cooked fresh within about 20mins. The team will then set it all up for you.

You obviously expect the service to be good from a top end hotel but sadly that isn't always the case. However, at Cap Rocat it is, all the team were so friendly and keen to do anything to make your stay as good as it could be.

The hotel provide free WiFi throughout the hotel and the signal was excellent (I understand each of the rooms has their own modem - ours did).

Whilst I would have no hesitations in staying again there are a couple of points that are worth noting before you book. The hotel is very spread out and the walk to some of the rooms can be quite long BUT they will pick you up / drop you off at any time of day in a buggy. The price you pay for a very peaceful hotel is that its quite isolated so you can't just walk up the coast or to local restaurants - Palma is a 20min drive. With that point in mind and as we stayed out of season I felt that the food options were quite limited. As I have mentioned the main restaurant only really offers the tasting menus with a back up menu with had c 5 - 6 main dishes on it so without the Sea Club to dine in you are quite limited if you don't want to travel outside.

As you would expect, as the hotel was a fortress, it is situated on a cliff-top which means there is no real beach. The hotel have created a small area of sand with straw umbrellas but entrance to the sea is via a ladder. Finally the current swimming pool isn't that large (or heated) but we were told that they are in the process of building a larger pool and spa area.

In the scheme of things these are relatively small points and we were happy to travel into Palma to eat (can recommend Sadrassana restaurant) but they are worth bearing in mind. However, still a lovely few days in the Spring sunshine and we would be very much happy to return.

Cap Rocat is by far one of Europe's leading hotels. Very exclusive hotel in a unique fortress with the sea in all directions. High service and level of food. Only negative is that you are not allowed to have children (some find that pleasent)

Room Tip: Tennis, gym, private beach

Had a 3 night break in April. Wonderful place, great rooms, great service. Stayed in Cabot suite, best ever venue for us. The weather was warm, but not warm enough to swim in cold pools. Expensive but worth it, we will be back. Nothing was too much trouble for manager or staff.

Beautiful hotel built in to the mountain in a castle. For those that love Aman this property has all these characteristics. Slightly cheaper (only just, still very price for Mallorca)
Hard to find a property of this style in Europe. Best get away under 2hrs from London.
