My partner and I stayed here for one night to attend a local wedding. The hotel, situated in quiet gardens with ample parking, was tastefully decorated throughout with a mix of modern and antique furnishings. Our spacious room was beautifully laid out with a large, comfortable kingsize bed, beautiful bedroom furniture, a wall mounted tv, tea and coffee facilities and a modern en suite. The quality of this hotel was matched only by the warmth and welcome of the owner, Mark and his team who all made us feel most welcome. Receptionist, Anna made strenuous efforts to find us a local taxi at the end of a local wedding event and owner, Mark even volunteered to collect when it became clear that the local taxi service was lacking. This attention to warmth, welcome and service did not go unnoticed and is the reason why we will definitely be returning to the West House Hotel. Highly recommended!

Not having to been to the West House for about 15 years it was a wonderful to visit it again for a meal . The overfeel hadnt changed even though the management hadnt changed the overall feel of the place which was lovely and welcoming. The courses were very well priced for and the selection was very good indeed for a sunday menu. The meals were piping hot and well presented on the plate , portion size was good size and as for the puddings well worth it

Good setting, peaceful and luxurious accommodation. The bed is very comfortable and bathrom modern. Well cooked food and pleasant staff. The room needs the provision of drinking water. There is no lift.

My husband and I battled through 220 miles of atrocious weather 2 days ago to get to West House . En route the wonderful receptionist, Joanne , called us twice to see how we were getting on and to give us useful information. When we arrived she had upgraded us to the honeymoon suite ( great bed , bathroom and view ) . A very comfortable stay and good breakfast. Joanne was so welcoming and went above and beyond the call of duty. So well done West House - we will be back !

Having been to the hotel before it's new owners took over, on this visit I was delighted to see such a massive improvement not just to the layout and decor of the public rooms but also the menu and the newly refurbished bedrooms. This dog-friendly hotel has really upped its game and for the very competitive prices you can expect a very pleasant stay with incredibly comfy beds. With the beach minutes away, Cowbridge 15 mins drive and Cardiff 30 mins, the location means easy access to the bustle of a big city combined with the rural quiet of this little gem hidden away in Llanwit Major. Lovely!

Room Tip: All rooms are newly refurbished with some specifically dog friendly.
