“VALUE FOR MONEY PACKAGE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

We were based in the Hotel Playa Dorada in Cala Llonga and what a super location it has.
Ideal for both the beach and access, by ferry or local bus, to other resorts The staff are only too pleased to help you and the entertainment team work their socks off to keep EVERYONE entertained. Sunbeds, but also umbrellas, are at a premium and you have to be around the pool areas early in order to get one. The accommodation is basic but very very clean though storage space is somewhat limited. Should you visit this hotel be sure to take the all inclusive option as it is VERY good value for money
The air-conditioning in the rooms was excellent easy to control and QUIET, cruise ship standard.
John from Birmingham is looking for the club songs - go on to you tube- type in sunshine for you or chi chi wah and they will play for you. CATCHING!!!!!!

Room Tip: Take the all inclusive option - excellent value for money

I paid £750 for one week with TC for a single room. Just back today, thankfully the brilliant rep Gail got me moved to the 4 star Club Siesta hotel of the same chain. My room was something out of the 70's, yes with the sea view I paid extra for but below the restaurant and above the snack bar. The bathroom in the hotel I moved to was the same size as my room here! It was horrible, too many kids, too big and too noisy. I was here for a friends wedding and that was brilliant but this hotel I cannot recommend.

We stayed in the Dorada (the other one is the Imperial) and we had a bit of a sea view which was nice. It is one of the smallest family rooms we have had but the fact that we only slept or got ready in it didnt matter and the beds were enormous and really comfy. We did aske for extra pillows and reception and they were delivered really quickly to the room. From the minute we arrived the reception staff were so welcoming and friendly and this continued all through the holiday. The bar staff were lovely and the waiter service was nice especially as the waiters would remember what you drank which i always think adds nice touches to your holiday, There were 3 pools (yes plently of sunbeds but up early to reserve in peak season) and 3 snack bars and every where you went was clean especially the rooms which had maid service 6 days a week.
The hotel was a good mix of english, spanish, Italian and French people which we always like as the food is always adventurous and the entertainment to suit all, if we wanted English we would holiday in England!
The Food was delicious and varied every night and have absolutley no complaints there. You had the choice of two buffet restaurants and snacks at the 3 snack bars plus ice creams all day for the kids.
The beach was just down the steps and although you couldnt take drinks out onto the beach it was a minute walk back to have a drink and a chill. The sunbeds on the beach were 11 euros for 2 loungers and a parasol but you didnt have to pay for them you could use towels on the sand as many local spanish families did.
We took the boat taxi to Ibiza old town and this was a lovely day out too and we ordered the hotel picnics to take with us for the day out.
The animation team were also fantastic and managed to make mundane kids discos with the same songs every night look really exciting and enjoyable. They worked so hard and the 'we will rock you' show was great. Other entertainment acts were as you would expect and we watched them with a glass of wine in hand and just enjoyed our evenings.
The only negative i have is that our holiday rep was awful and i didnt rate the whole tour operator service at all. Our airport rep didnt even get off the coach to see us into the hotel and stayed on the coach which i thought a bit odd. The rep at our welcome meeting was a bit aggressive and rude and left after our first week so didnt really matter.
Sirenis hotels really put a lot of effort into keeping this hotel operated in an organised and clean manner and would def. recommend.

Room Tip: request a sea view

Just booked for 2012 after coming back from another fab holiday. No, it's not the most attractive complex but beauty is only skin deep and the hotel is spotlessly clean with rooms cleaned six days a week. The location of the hotel on the beach is stunning and if you get up early enough you can catch a wonderful sunrise!

All the hotel staff are great, the entertainments team work tirelessly and Carol in the VIP lounge makes everyone feel like they're part of one big family.

The entertainment is not Las Vegas quality but we were entertained every night and some acts I would have paid to see.

The food selection has something for everyone. Carvery and freshly cooked fish course every evening. Rice dishes, pasta, pizza, Seafood selection, kids selection, fresh fruit and cakes, breads and ice cream.

Next year will be our fifth year in a row and the in-laws are going back too after going on our recommendation this year. Met loads of lovely folk, many of whom, like us, go back every year. Many nationalities and the hotel staff try their hardest to cater for all. Many of the staff also return year in, year out and you can tell they love working there. Special mention for Antonio who I watched reel off from memory the drink orders for every table in the place one night! Can't praise it enough 10 out of 10. The only thing I would make people aware of is that the location does not make it wheelchair friendly!
