23/05/18; Along the coast road from Moraira to Calpe - on the left - are a series of small coves; Algas, Castello, Baladrar, L'Advocat, La Fustera, Timon. Some of these enchanting bays have eateries sitting right on the waters edge, some do not. Restaurant La Paillotte sits on L'Advocat, a truly beautiful situation. The seating is scattered around not regimented like an in-town venue; and has the now classic Moraira iron sculpture of the scanning man to compliment it. This site is the overwhelming asset of this restaurant.
The waiter is forgetful and not very slick, confusing Coke Lite and Diet Coke. congas and sin gas, he forgot the coffee and some drinks but is pleasant and amiable.
The house red is poor - surprising for this area - and the bread rolls were terrible - just out the freezer perhaps ?
The food was good, well cooked and presented. Tuna was special, but needed more sauce.
The bill for four was € 161 plus tip, so expensive.
The location is its crowning glory, if you can afford it go and enjoy.

Although we only had drinks here, it was well worth the visit for the beautiful view over El Portet beach.

The restaurant is up some steps so is quite hidden but once you find it you're greeted with palm trees and lots of lovely greenery. The seating area is next to a small hotel and pool, all with a lovely view of the sea.

The drinks menu had a lot of classic and special cocktails, we chose the La Paillotte which had coconut and banana liqueur - Not very strong but tasty. A lot of the food coming out looked fancy and smelt great, so this is something to look at in advance if you want to spend an evening here.

This was a great evening with 2 friends living around (we were in vacation) - This place has a great view on the sea and on Calpe Rock.
The food was excellent - a tuna steak just cooked as I like it. The Italian tartare was also delicious. The wine was good as well!

We had two meals here recently, one lunchtime salad and an evening dinner. Both were mediocre and dull, in what has been for several years an unfailingly excellent restaurant. Service very slow, although far from full restaurant. Is the chef away? Is the boss away? Please don’t rest on your laurels.
