Parkdean - Pendine Sands

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 Sept 2013
Just come back from an excellent family holiday at Pendine Sands. My daughter loved the Kids entertainment both in the day and evening (Sid and Lizzie), the entertainment staff work very hard. They have the kids clubs in the morning then some sort of family fun at 2pm, line dancing, movie time etc.
The Sands (clubhouse) is on the small side for the size of the site, the kids entertainment starts at 6:30pm but you need to get there around 6pm to get a good seat. Bingo starts at 8:30pm then the adult entertainment starts at 9:30pm they have different acts every night. We only ate once at the Sands (food not that nice).
The Park itself is split over 3 sites and depending on where your caravan is located is a long walk to The Sands, swimming pool and beach.
We hired our caravan privately it was in the Sandringham Rise area with amazing sea views.
Pendine is a lovely small village with 3 general stores, 4 cafes, 2 pubs, post office, launderette 2 chip shops, Indian restaurant and 3 gift shops.
The beach which is owned by the MOD is 7 miles long, a small section of the beach is always open we only saw the red flag fly once (which means that section of beach is closed). We never heard any noise from the MOD during our stay (7nts). You can park your car on the beach for a small charge £3. As its so long it can get quite windy. The tide does go out quite far and its cold so wetsuits are a good idea for the kids.
Tenby and Saundersfoot are beautiful towns to visit. Oakwood and Follyfarm are 20mins away.
We'll definitly be going back next summer.
Date of stay: August 2013
Room Tip: Request caravan close to 'The Sands'.

We don't use the park for anything other than a base as we like to go out and about, staff ok, not much on the park and couldn't say what the clubs like as it's not our thing. Pool was not impressive and neither were the rude staff the staffed that area. Caravan was ok, it was clean, could see the sea, it was a quiet park and not noisy at night like some can be. Pendine itself was lovely, Point café great but Parrys food was awful and cold .Lovely waitress but appeared poorly managed. The coffee shop at Pendine is nice.

interesting history surrounding the area, with the kids wanting to dig to see if they could find the buried landspeed record car, beach was pleasant and lots of places to shop and eat around. Lovely visit stayed at the caravan park, but the coffee shop by the beach was nice.

Location very good if peace and quiet are required. Caravans are best at top of hill to get view. The on site facilities are not the best however. Entertainment is excellent although onsite food poor and expensive and drinks very expensive. Kids parks are ok /good although swimming pool extremely small - little more than paddling pool really!
