A beautifully located apartment situated on the side of a hill overlooking Marigot Bay, this apartment is ideal for a romantic escape. There are other adjoining apartments but you would never notice you had neighbours. During our stay we were well looked after by Kirby (and Christine) who dealt very efficiently with any issues we had. For example, our freezer was not good enough to keep ice cream frozen. Kirby (and Christine) reimbursed us for the spoilt ice cream and replaced our freezer with one that could keep ice cream properly frozen. Here are a few tips that will make your stay more enjoyable:
1 The track to the apartment is not suitable for vehicles with low tracking.
2 Leave the shower running for a few minutes before getting in. The hot water takes a while to flow through
3 Keep the curtains pulled when the veranda doors are open unless you would like the company of birds
4 Rotate the table on the veranda to stabilise it. There is a point where it will stabilise without you putting anything under one of the legs.
5 Don't buy ice cream if you have a grey Mabe fridge freezer.
6 The fans are good enough. No need for air con.
7 Plenty of good local restaurants at Marigot Bay.
8 Be sure to know where you are going in the car. There are very few signposts to help.
All in all, a very pleasant and relaxing holiday can be had at this lovely apartment.
We feel very lucky that we had a chance to stay for a week at this property. It is brand new, and there were no reviews, so we were a bit worried. The place turned out to be perfect.
First, the host, Christine, is the friendliest person we ever met. I cannot list all of the different ways she helped us, beyond the expected hospitality.
Second, the place is spotless, modern, well equipped and the quality of the appliances and furniture is excellent. The bathrooms and kitchens would pass for showroom installations. (Two of the bathrooms in the house have Jacuzzi bath.) Air conditioning, flat screen TV, wireless internet is everywhere.
Third, the neighborhood is very quiet, as opposed to the houses that directly look onto Marigot Bay. In the Bay there is one or more party going on every night, but that noise does not make it to this house.
Most importantly, the view is beautiful (see my photos). We had breakfast on the terrace every morning and we evening The villa has three floors and there is an unobstructed view of the Caribbean from all three floors.
We had a rental car and I recommend to have one for climbing the steep hill the villa is built on. Please note that the last section of the road to the house is in pretty bad shape. It is not unusually steep (by St. Lucia standards) but at certain sections the pavement is uneven or damaged. As long as the driver is careful in avoiding the potholes, this is not a problem.
