“Good food, even better beer!”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

My partner and I ate here following a brewery tour, and again I recommend this highly too. The Bistro is large, spacious and of course rather unusual being located in a working brewhouse.
We found the service very friendly and welcoming despite the distinctly off-season time of year, and the food itself extremely generous in portion, fresh and well-cooked with obvious expertise: no ready-meals here.
It's not the cheapest, but the Yorkshire Dales are never cheap, but like everything here, what you get is genuine value for money, and for most of us that's more important.

“Black Sheep Brewery Tour”
Reviewed 15 February 2012

If you're visiting Masham don't miss this, partly for the stubborn determination to survive the brewing trade's industrialisation, and especially for the wonderful aroma of the freshly-brewing beer! Marvellous!

“Very interesting tour, enjoyable lunch”
Reviewed 9 February 2012

We learnt that Black Sheep is a real success story, and enjoyed our very informative tour (guide Dave) and our lunch in the large 'bistro'. We are also going to be regular drinkers of Black Sheep's products in the future!

“Unpromising exterior but well worth a visit”
Reviewed 4 February 2012

The entrance is overshadowed by large beer tanks of forbidding appearance, but once you are inside it's a very well run and attractive place, including bar, restaurant and shop. Specialises in Black Sheep beers (brewed on site) and linked products. We only had a snack and a coffee in passing, one Sunday, but I've enjoyed a meal on a previous occasion and the food has been OK (if not special). An interested, unusual and worthwhile place if you are in or passing through the Masham area.
