booked this online for the September 2014 through travelsoon arrived and was told there was no rom ,gave us an alternative which was more like a shed with no a/c TV and was terrible with no rating at all , we threatened to camp in the hotel lobby but all they could say was they had overbooked and that was all they could give us which we pointed out was not 4 star as per our holiday booking , the manager was evasive and refused to see us till we caught him and he was so off hand and defensive say we had not paid the 4 star rate as we had got it cheaper throught the internet please any body booking don't go here as its well know for double booking check other reviews out first please drains backed up in the bathroom and the a/c was shut off for the winter after we had complained it was not working three times over the holiday which I think it was just a way of saving money for the hotel the water park is extra as well and was closed on two occasions for reasons that nobody was quite aware of pity as its a good location

Room tip: don't bother as its a lottery here

October 9th 2014 was our second visit on an all exclusive basis. 2013 was brilliant, 2014 was a let down.
On arrival at 3.00pm, the only food available was cold soup and very dry cheese and ham sandwiches. Our room (1 bed apartment) was very dark with a dirty floor, broken shower fitting, broken wardrobe door handle, loose hob switch, ripped fly screen and rusty fridge interior. The lights were not working over the bedroom mirror or in the kitchen area. We asked to be moved but were told that there was no room similar and that they would mend the shower fitting - this was done within about an hour. We still asked to be moved but were refused. After 2 nights in the 'apartment' we did manage to be moved to a studio - not were we wanted to be but a great improvement. When we went to our room to back our bags for the change we found one cleaner changing our bed, BUT another 2 were having a meeting round 'our' coffee table.
The food was pretty good, although often cool but the bars were a disappointment. The main bar was OK but the Beach Bar was poor. Nearly all the staff had a bad attitude. The service was poor. Some drinks not available and no question of replenishment even well before official closing. Beach towel exchanges were at inconvenient times despite towels sitting in a cupboard 10 yards away.
The pirates bar was the biggest disappointment. 2013 this bar was included in the 'All Inclusive' deal. 2014, all change but no mention of that in any pre-holiday literature.
The female receptionist was really great, as were the dining room staff together with the main bar staff. Others not so good.
This is definitely not a 5 star establishment. It would struggle to reach 3 at the moment. More truth in the literature would be a big help.
If they get back to the way it was in 2013 then perhaps the 5 stars would appropriate.

My fiancé and I have the best memories from Gelina! It's our second time there. I must say that we were very pleasantly surprised at how great it looks after its renovation! There's a beautiful seaside bar, the Pirates Bar with bamboo sun beds. There are three different restaurants every evening with different menus (Chinese, Mediterranean, fish etc) and a Spa. The couple suites that we stayed in are gorgeous (we were told that they're new!). Mosquitos are no longer a problem, just maybe for half an hour between 9 and 9.20, then they disappear and repellants will suffice. We would definitely go back there. Corfu is an island of such diverse natural beauty, good food and Venetian architecture. Highly recommended!

Room tip: Avoid ground floor, could be humid! All other floors have a sunset and most have sea view! Ask for the new rooms. They're beautiful!

My cousin and I booked this up through a last minute deal. After booking we read reviews and to say we were nervous was an understatement! We regretted booking it without reading reviews first.
However upon arrival we couldn't have been more pleased. We arrived at 12 midnight and a small dinner had been arranged for us before setting off to our rooms. It is a beautiful place with a gorgeous beach. The pools were clean and our room cleaned daily. The food was astounding and we were happy to eat in the main restaurant every day. The staff were friendly and very helpful with any queries we had.
Mosquitoes were a problem but u should expect that where ever you travel. I had considered this before travelling out there and brought insect repellent. Not once was I bitten!
My cousin and I have recommended it to everyone since being back home and we would definitely visit again.

I stayed here with a friend in September 2012. Arrived hungry after a long transfer from airport with rude driver. No food on offer except very dry sandwiches and cake. Room was adequate, certainly not 5 star and seemed clean but 'felt' dirty. All inclusive holiday but bar staff turned their backs on us when we went to order drinks. The worst problem was the mosquitoes - we were bitten through our clothes and were in severe discomfort for the whole holiday. We found that the hotel was built on a swamp which was a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Don't sit under the big tree outside the restaurant - birds are roosting there and their droppings land on you!

The good points were a lovely quiet pool and a separate pool for families. Lovely weather. Beautiful grounds, lovely beach with fab views. Food was good. Easy walk to the town.
