Regenerated old mining site that offers lots of wonderful views and wildlife. lots for the kids to do with a fab adventure playground on site. Excellent cafe, and hotel set in the middle of the park and camping for tents and caravans with full hook up available. Right on my doorstep so I feel very lucky to be able to visit this great place whenever I want.

A must see.

Went for a day out and to walk the dog. Easy enough to find and plenty of parking. The walking trails coul be better marked but they are mostly easy to walk on and not too muddy. A lot of dog walkers, so probably avoid if you don't like dogs.

A good place to walk around a lake, and enjoy time with family and friends. Would recommend this to get out of the house and relax in a nice environment.

We parked in the car park, which was spacious and free. Full marks to start. We looked for building that could give information, but only saw the cafe. We walked up a path and thought we would come across a visitor centre or some boards with maps of the walks. We kept walking but the only board with a walk we saw was an exercise trail, in a straight line there and back. This was fine, but we were hoping to do a circular walk. We just kept going. There were no sign posts that we could see, no directions. We ended up on a road. We crossed this and came to a lake which was nice. There were seats around and geese and ducks. It was very relaxing. We kept going and crossed a bridge and an other bridge, but this second bridge was rotten and had a gaping hole where plank had fallen right out so take care. We kept going, but then came to a stile, which would be difficult to climb over if you had mobility problems, but also we could not see any clear path from there. so we turned round. There were some times pillars with notches that may have been once different colours, and i think we saw a post with two arrows but we had no idea of the walks or trails. This was a shame as we could have made much better use of our time there. We walked back and had a drink at the cafe. When one of my friends went to find the loo he found a visitor centre hidden away behind the cafe! We did get a map there but was too late. So if you go there, there is a small lane on the right of the cafe go up there and get a map first. I think there should be better sign posts. There should be boards informing of different walks. There should be posts indicating walks and how difficult they are, with distances. Where the lakes are, what animals you are likely to see, what the trees are, you know the kind of thing. Also the dog owners rule here. I had a massive dog come up to me, the owners said nothing, some people, especially a child may be, would be scared stiff. We also had a dog jump up over one of my friends, but instead of calling the dog back the owner shouted 'watch your trousers". Quite funny really. To be fair to them though we saw no dog mess at all. The place was very clean. We saw no litter of any sort. I am still giving 'excellent' because of the beautiful trees and the thrill of seeing a buzzard ( i think) and all the lovely waterfowl. I think it could be bit better organised though and some up keep attended to it, but we were very grateful it was free. Thank you.

This is a lovely park and caravan site in the Welsh hinterland.

It is clean and tidy.

Hoever, it was let down by the poof supervision and control of the campers in the nearby field.

Noise and problems in the showers/toilets were a constant source of trouble and I felt sorry for the cleaners,

The diabled facilities were also below standard. The Toilet was OK, but the shower was a normal fixed shower and not suitable.

This is wahthas caused me to give a low rating.

Sceanary, walks etc, were very good.
