We went here after recommendation from locals. There was no time for a night safari, so we went there an early afternoon during the school holidays.
The parking was quite full and so was the zoo. We chose to take the tram through the park because of the heat and humidity. The waiting time was around 20 long minutes, then suddenly there were 3-4 of the trams at the same time, and we got aboard :-)
The driver only talked Malay, so we understood nothing. During the 20 minute-trip through the park, he showed no sign to stop at the most interesting or popular animals, so it was impossible to take a closer look or get good snapshots of them.
Our children aged 3 and 5 were really happy to have seen so many exotic animals during the express trip. But we thought that the facilities for some of the animals were quite primitive. Especially some of the monkeys living in cages. The sanitary conditions seemed quite bad, and we refrained from visiting the toilets after watching them from the outside.
We had planned a walk to the most interesting spots after the tram tour, but felt we had had enough.
The entrance fee is 8 RM for children and 12 RM for adults.
