Visited the Ancient Cedars Cafe at the end of the tourist season and was a bit disappointed because many of the items on the menu were not available that day - even the garden salad! I had the home-made macaroni and cheese and my friend had the grilled cheese sandwich with red pepper jelly. I was very disappointed with the macaroni. For $16.99, I expected it would have a few additional ingredients, but it was just plain macaroni floating in a soupy cheese sauce. My friend, however, said the grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best he has ever had. So, as I said in the title - a mixed review. This place is okay for a quick lunch. It’s definitely a cafe atmosphere and there is no ambiance to speak of since it just seems like an extension of the adjacent golf club. On the plus side, Ancient Cedars offers vegetarian/vegan options that you can’t find elsewhere in Tobermory.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a place where we had so many options for vegetarian or vegan people.
During our last trip to Tobermory, we found this place by chance. But belive me whenever i go to tobermory i will be eatinh here. It started with a superb service by owner Sean. Restaurent ambiance and design is awesome with an option of sitting outside on patio with a golf course view. Service was very nice and Sean was a very friendly person. We all being veggies, i was really surprised with all veggie food options available with them. Kids had a fun with their 7 star burgers. Pasta were also faboulous. The breads and buns used to make burgers were so fresh and so tasty. During our chat with Sean we came to know that they make their own things and most their supplies comes from local farms and they do not use anything from supermarkets or outside supplies. I became a big fan in ine visit and would surely recommend them any time and for anyone.

Nice and refreshing place to grab lunch and we're pleasantly surprised to see the Vegan food on the menu (and in Tobermory area), Wow!

Delicious and lots of options.

could use a Baby Change table in at least one of the washrooms.

Staff and service was very good and fun to talk to.

The place is easy to find on highway 6 just south of Tobermory and beside Bruce National Park.

Would love to see it go full Vegan (get rid of the cow on the menu). Doesn't even have to label itself as 'Vegan' if they're afraid of that word, just indicate that it's 'Plant based' for those who inquire, otherwise don't bother with labels

Thanks for being there for us in Tobermory!

They have a giant one pound burger for $20 that is plenty for two. The spicy noodle bowl and beef ribs were good too
