Stower Grange is a pleasant, well-worn country house in Drayton with friendly staff but it is over-rated and relatively pricey. Stayed two nights in a double room on the first floor. The king-sized bed was comfortable but the decor was dated with loud patterned carpet, vinyl tub chairs and pine furniture better suited to a pub. The TV was tiny. The blow-dryer was baby-sized and wasn't used as it seemed rather old to be safe. The room was too cramped to open both suitcases without tripping over them. A nice touch was 2 home-baked biscuits with the tea and coffee kit. We found the water in this area to be scummy, so more than one bottle of water would have been appreciated. The room did not have a safe, fridge, aircon, suitcase stand or iron. There was an outdated trouser-press in the corner. The bathroom was a step up with a shower but didn't have a bath. The tiles in the shower were horribly mouldy and in urgent need of a good clean. The cooked breakfast did not make up for the average room. The scrambled eggs were very good but would have liked a better choice of fresh fruit to go with yogurt (besides canned prunes, grapefruit and large slices of watermelon). It was good to see a bowl of fresh, albeit chunky, strawberries the next day. Breakfast tea was made with teabags rather than fresh leaf tea. The traveling distance to and from Norwich was further and much slower than expected and the busy traffic was stressful. A pleasant stay but not great.

We would definitely will stay here again. We had an attic room and it is lovely furnished. Very relaxing and even though it is not in the city we caught the bus into the city. Bus stop is only 2 mins walk away. Hotel and breakfasts were beautiful, staff are very courteous and friendly. Everything you need is here. Everything is perfect

Room Tip: Attic room for couples

Stayed here for one night for business and will definitely book again if I'm in the area. Full of charm and character, free parking just outside the entrance. Super friendly service and nothing would seem much trouble. Great food, refreshing to be served a steak as I ordered medium rare and beautifully tender. Room was a good size and bed comfy. Some will say dated I would say fits in with the style of the property. Breakfast again very good. Thank you for a pleasurable stay.

Comfortable and Friendly Hotel. Very warm welcome, great food, with dinner being served promptly and very well presented. Breakfast was excellent. Room was large and bed super. Close to local amenities and even though I was on a work related trip the venue is well located for touring Norfolk/Norwich and/or airport which is only 10 mins away. Will be back very soon
