When we first arrived we walked into a very stylish reception and we relaxed abit thinking we had booked a great place. We checked in and was given all the things we needed and was told we was on the third floor we entered the lift (very very small for 2 people plus cases) got out of lift to a dark smelly corridor, no more spectacular stylish decor. We found our room, which was small but ok nothing special, the bathroom was really small had to shut door to get to sink as it was behind the door and if door was open it was touching side of bath so had to work around it. We opened the patio door to a very small balcony but that was never used as the smell outside was disgusting a mixture between raw sewage and seaweed NICE!
The next morning we went down for breakfast to a room that smelt of burning plastic, or something like that, to food that really was awful, all the food was buffet style for breakfast ham cheese scrambled egg bacon boiled eggs (no egg cups) toast cereal apples maybe kiwi if lucky that was about it all week although we did have the treat of croissant twice and we got a lucky surprise of salad one morning (the mind boggles as to why that was served)
Chipped cups (the size of egg cups) and plates, mix and match chairs and tables. Just awful.
Lunch and dinner were mostly served outside under a veranda style thing, with all the flies and bugs :-) and the lovely wafting smell of sewage, With the execption being when there was a Cypriot wedding on (I was there 7 days 4 of these happened) then the meals are served in the top bar at tiny uncomfortable tables not meant for eating at. The guests at these weddings take priority everytime down to be served at the bar to getting there meals first.
The lunchs are mostly whatever didnt get eaten the night before reheated with extra rice or potatoes. The dinners are themed everynight, Cypriot, Greek, Arabic, etc etc to be honest it all tasted the same and didnt really look any different. The salad always tasted of the same smell that lingered in the breakfast hall plasticy, there was always pasta with the same sauce on everynight, there was always beetroots and potatoes (strange things to put together in 1 dish ) smothered in lemon juice (probably to keep fresh)
and there was always apples, we did get given pudding twice jelly with pinapple rings ... what a treat!! On the food side of things if you go all inclusive the snacks are much better than the food, still not excellent but better burgers( they ran out of burgers on the wed I arrived on the mon and they didnt get any more in till after I left the following mon) fish n chips that kind of thing and they are served at set times between meal times.
The hotel itself is out in the sticks the beach is 3 mins away but you have the delight of that smell all the way there and you have to cross a busy road to get there, the beach is a pebble beach .
The staff at the hotel were ok some were helpful and some couldn't give a damn. You never really saw any staff at all on the days of the weddings as they were preparing for them,
The pools were ok, if you could stand the wafting sewage smell the pools down by the bungalows being much nicer, the toilets by the bungalow pools were very nice you get the elegant stylish design back, but sadly that was the only other place were it happened.
The bar served drinks all day but if they ran out of anything it wasn't replaced till the next day or maybe the day after that. Certain drinks and food wasnt included in the all inclusive offer ... things like crisps slush puppy style drinks etc things you would have wanted for free if you had children with you, and certain things like ice cream were only served at snack times not all day certainly not very children orientated. I know for certain my children (aged 2 and 4) would not have enjoyed any of the meals served there.
There was no entertainment all week! there was supposed to be a disco on the fri but it got cancelled at the last minute not really sure why no one was told! We was told when we booked they had there own entertainment staff who put on a couple of shows during the week but it never happened.
We was also told there was gym and sauna and jacuzzi, there was a gym with about 10 pieces of equipment but only 1 worked and had to be prebooked at reception so someone could sit and watch you incase anything should happen to you, the sauna and jacuzzi never worked all the time I was there in fact they gym sauna and jacuzzi are all off the breakfast room which on one goes to other than at breakfast time.
Also there was supposed to be ironing facilities in the room .... Nope
A working safe in the room .... Nope
Air Con....... more like cheap hairdryer
Towels ......... large flannels ( I took my own which cleaning staff took by mistake there towles are white and green mine were purple!! I got them back but they were filthy and was told they couldn't wash them as different coulour to theres and could run)
Internet access...... only in top bar
Some of these things are propbably just me moaning but they are things which annoy you and ruin your holiday, a holiday I have spent well earned money on, I didnt expect the Ritz but I expected a bit better than what I got!! it was worse than no frills.
I would honestly never ever go there again and would never ever recommend it to anyone it was horrible!!!
I really do not understand how this place still has any guests, I made the serious error of booking this place without checking any reviews. A mistake I will never make again!
