I've been going to the Top Brink for more years than I care to remember. It's always been in the same ownership so what you get is a pub that is consistently good. It is also a free house so the beer selection changes and also there are a couple of regular ales that are always on.

The food at the Top Brink is simple pub fayre. Simple is good because there is nowhere to hide, it has to be done correctly. In the winter time when it tends to be a bit quiet on top of that hill they put on a steak night which offers great value for money.

I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there. Maybe chosen the wrong thing a time or two but that was my fault. The service is always good too. I don't dislike anything about the place.

It was suggested that we join some friends on a trip out to have lunch and this place was suggested by someone who had been there before. That was a godsend because I think it would have been hard to find using a map and no satnav because it is in the middle of no where. On arrival was instantly amazed at the number of cars already in the car park giving the reassurance of how popular this place is.The olde world look from outside doesn't give you the impression of how big it is inside. The menu if a little limited is more pub than restaurant but the quality and size of portions makes up for it.They also have a daily specials board but this was nearly all gone due to time of our arrival.Would use again more often if it wasn't so far out for us to travel but its certainly worth a visit

It provides good food at reasonable prices. You can always ring and reserve a table as it gets busy at the weekends.

TopBrink is situated between Hebden Bridge and Tomorden on the Lancashire Yorkshire boarder. Getting there is not the easiest of journeys but if you want good food good astmosphere in a friendly pub (old school) then it's worth it. The Top Brink has been a popular place to visit for many years and has a worthy reputation as a fine Pub that serves good food. Over the years nothing has changed. Visited on a Sunday and the place was very full nevertheless the service was quick and friendly with a wide cholce of snacks and meals; enough to satisfy most if not all. This place can get very busy.
No downside as far as far as I am concerned once you arrive. However if your not familiar with the area then finding the place may present a problem. So my advice would be to ring first and get directions. Once you have navigated the 'S' bends and single track lanes you will arrive ready for a drink and some hearty food which is just what you will get.

The Top Brink is in a brilliant location, on the hillside beneath Stoodley Pike monument. The pub has a long tradition as a food pub, but the beer drinker will be happy enough. The layout of the bar area works really well, and means that getting served is a calm and pleasant experience, even on a busy night. Food orders are taken at a separate till, which makes life so much easier. And the food is good! It's traditional pub food well done. Cumberland sausage and chips is a mainstay that I've been enjoying for 30 years, and now my adult children (unprompted) choose the same. I've given them "5" rather than "4", whereas "4.5" would be better; on my last visit, the Timothy Tailors Landlord was not as well presented as it could be (too cold, lacking foam). Nevertheless, go there.
