Lovely old hall, excellent hot breakfast, some rooms huge, others interesting!

Interior must be a hundred years old. Nice sitting in lounge pretending to be a Lord!

Free wifi and especially free parking are great.

Our room was very small and looked drab, the shower was poor and the shower screen did not do the job it was suppose to do!
There was obviously something wrong with the bathroom as the carpet clearly showed the water damage to the carpet and was disgusting!
This room should have not been let to guests in this condition and was clearly well over priced for what we got!

Due to the local council and a new neighbour guests can no longer sit outside with your drink after 8pm. On a hot summer evening you have to go and drink inside!

The staff we encountered were overall friendly, however, some attention needs to be taken over how breakfast is served, some customer service training would be a good idea.

We had a beautiful stay at the oakwood hall hotel.it's a stunning venue for a wedding to be spoilt by 1 person who has only lived in a house that was built near the hotel knowingly perfectly well it was hotel, to object with noise from the hotel hense the council has got involved and the hotel has a no drink outside policy after 8pm!!! Shame on you!!

We stayed here for one night and was extremely disappointed with the room. For a "double room" it was extremely small, no chair to sit on, only one bedside lamp, wardrobe so small that anyone wanting to stay more than one night would have had problems hanging their clothes. Entering the bathroom was tricky due to the position of the television. Wallpaper in the bathroom was coming away from the wall. The quantity of tea and coffee was limited. Our room was extremely dates.

The positive side was that the staff were friendly and really tried to help but all their efforts were let down by the standard of the room. The breakfast was good.

Room tip: If you have difficulty climbing stairs make sure the hotel knows prior to arrival. We struggled with them.

This hotel is one of the best 3 star hotels we have stayed at and represents excellent value for money.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, warm, welcoming and attentive!
Our spacious room (21) was extremely pleasant with very nice decor and sparkling clean. Tea and coffee, hair dryer and iron facilities in room. The bathroom was also spacious with a great walk in shower.

This ground floor room was however quite cold despite it being a very hot day but heating was switched on for us when the sun went down at our request.

We enjoyed a fabulous evening meal! Excellent quality food and service from staff served in a wonderful and spacious dining room. The meal was no more expensive than any other restaurant or bistro coming in at around £50 for two 3 course meals of very good quality.

The hotel garden was peaceful and relaxing. The only criticism I can offer is the lack of outside seating and the 2 tables and chairs available were badly in need of a good paint.

All in all this hotel is fabulous. All of the exceptional staff help to create a very pleasant weekend. We paid £75 for bed and breakfast last minute that represented excellent value for money! Hats off to the staff who make the place what it is! We will definitely return if in the area again. Highly recommend to others!
Thank you to the staff of Oakwood hall hotel! Top marks!
