This hotel is a tricky one, there seems to be many different buildings and wings that seem to have very different levels. I stayed in the Gielas wing so will talk about that only and strongly reccomend if you stay, stay in this wing.

Firstly each room has its own sauna that could fit 4 people comfortably. It's easy to use and only takes 30 min to heat up. It also has a timer so you can leave in the morning knowing you have it waiting for you.

It's not hugely important but ask for a room on the back side of the wing and high up as the front overlooks the carpark.

The room has all the mod cons including a nice couch but bare in mind that Finland seems to not have double beds just twins so not ideal for a romantic trip :)

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days in March 2012. The accommodation seems to be in different blocks around the hotel- I think the main building just houses the restaurant. We stayed in “Ahma” (see pics). The room felt a bit old fashioned, but was clean, comfortable, spacious and well maintained. The room had a really big window, which was nice. There was a sitting area at one end. In terms of mod cons, it had fridge, hair dryer, old style tv, tea/coffee etc. There was a separate drying room, with an ironing board. The bathroom was a wet room; everything worked well and there was plenty of hot water.

There was no wifi in the room, and I couldn’t get a decent mobile signal. There was wifi in the main building (including the breakfast area). Breakfast was a buffet in the main building. It was quite a big buffet, but somehow not that special (toast, waffles, breads, cheeses, salamis, pickled fish, awful egg and bacon, boiled eggs, cereals etc)

A minor downside was that the room only got cleaned every other day.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

We spent a week here February 2012. We opted for the one bedroom apartment to give us more space as we feared we might be stuck indoors a bit in the event of bad weather. Fortunately that didn't happen! Our apartment had a balcony and large windows overlooking the ski track, the forest and the fells - a very pretty view. A well appointed suite which we were very happy with. The rooms are cleaned every other day which is fine. It was difficult to find out from the hotel website or TripAdvisor exactly what was included in the 'kitchenette' so I'm listing it here for the benefit of others: fridge with small freezer box, 4 ring cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, plates, cutlery etc. I would have liked a kettle, which would have been useful for instant coffee, packet soups etc. We resorted to putting cups of cold water in the microwave or using the coffee machine - a nuisance but not the end of the world! The suite comes with a shower wet room and its own sauna and I particularly liked the bathroom's heated floor! Plenty of space for coats, salopettes, boots etc. TV was a bit limited in channel choice outside of the paid film selections which we didn't bother with (caught up on our reading instead!). Why is CNN transmitted without sound?? BBC World News is transmitted on a loop so gets boring pretty quickly! Would have liked internet access in our room - at present it's only available in the lobby of the main hotel building. NOTE: The apartments are extremely warm. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and there was something for everyone's tastes. For dinner we tended to eat out or cook in our apartment, (good supermarket/off licence only 10 mins away) so only used the dining room twice. The food was fine but not great but we opted for simple dishes so perhaps are not best placed to judge. The hotel is well situated for the various hire shops and the airport bus drops you right at the front door. My only big gripe, and I realise that it is a matter of personal preference, was the hotel's imitation 'northern lights' lasers shining up into the night sky for several hundred yards. I found them intrusive and unnecessary - they got in the way of our enjoyment of the northern lights themselves. That aside the hotel is very good indeed and I am happy to recommend it.

Room Tip: Am sure any would be fine. Suggest you request view of ski track

Im not sure I should be sharing this as the resort needs to be a well kept secret. We upgraded to a room in the Geilas with its own sauna and an amazing view of the forest.
Everything about the place is gorgeous, the tobogan run and midnight in bright moonlight, the northern lights every night, the friendly people, the amazing food (given the location and the fact that I am a mushroom intolerant strict veggie) they did me special odrers every night.
Inghams were a little brusque at first but to be honest once we got to know the rep she was a star, plus nothing could take away the magic of driving a pack of husky's, snowmobiling through forests at night, the sheer cold (-47 on our first night), snow shoeing through the forest at night and seeing wild reindeer, toboganning down a 1.2km run that is over 400 m high, trying to cross country ski and failing and the northern lights on tap. It was the most wicked holiday that I have ever been on and we will definately be going again and we might even buy an apartment there.

Friendly staff. Authentic hotel. Not a lot of choice on half board option but a lot cheaper than eating out al la carte. 'Comfort, fuel food'.
