This used to be a favourite spot of ours but the last few visits have been terrible. Today we spent £65 on 3 steak sandwiches and a child's burger and 2 drinks. The 'steak sandwich' was a burger which was dripping in grease and ruined the bun so was impossible to eat as it was so soggy. The actual burger meat texture was rubbery and grim and all I could taste was gherkin. The small portion of fries were cold and so so dry and the coleslaw has a very unpleasant mayo on it rendering it inedible. 3 Greasy onion rings ontop of the burger were also dreadful. The child's mini burger was the same size as the adult ones but half the price! We ate what we could, explained to the waitress how disappointing the whole meal was and vowed never to return. Such a shame as it used to be so good

Service was appalling.
1. Had to ask for the table to be cleaned. They left it soaking with spray so had to dry it ourselves but also left used napkins on table from previous customers.
2. Took ages to order drinks as the waiter had clearly not been trained properly (on his 2nd week) either that or he was thick
3. No crackling with the pork so asked the manager who returned with a bit of wood
4. Accidentally ordered adult meal for daughter so went back to change. Manager did change which was good but tried to give me £3. Then tried to give me £5 refund. It was actually £8.25 difference. Manager also seemed thick.
5. Beef was overcooked and dry
6. Vegetables soggy
7. Ordered kids ice cream. Took 15 minutes for it to be delivered.
8. They forgot to bring the kids drink which is included with the kids meal.
Overall this used to be a nice place to come for food but it has deteriorated massively over the years and this was the last time I’d go tbh. Such a shame.

We had my daughter's 21st birthday party here.... I must say it was an excellent venue for such an occasion... Buffet food was superb enough sandwichs to feed 300 people as well as top quality hot selection. Severe was top quality a special mention to Luke and Abbi who were excellent even providing a box for the cake and the left over sandwichs ..... All in all great venue and great friendly staff..

Awful service today .. had to constantly try to catch the attention of the waiter.. the lady who was serving was fabulously attentive with her customers but ours was more interested in chatting in the kitchen area.

We came to the Shiremoor House Farm for our New Year’s Eve for family dinner/drinks. We sat in the bar, which is dog friendly, with our cockapoo puppy. He was the centre of attention by lots of customers, enjoying lots of cuddles and affection. Our puppy barked on a few occasions for more attention. The General Manager then came over to us and asked for us to ‘stop our dog barking’. Upon challenging this, as this is a dog friendly bar, the General Manager then said he was ‘telling us’ and we ‘should have took our dog outside’.

We used to come to the Shiremoor House Farm every week, however unfortunately the pub has gone massively downhill. There was barely any customers and the atmosphere was terrible. Very poor service and advice on how to look after our dog was massively unappreciated. We will not be returning.
