Went there for two nights and all seemed ok until we discovered the malfunctioning shower the flodded bathroom and bad breakfast. Not what we had hoppes for. Unfortunately no one understood us either, so communicating was difficult...

Arrived at Anchana on Saturday 19th September 2015. Walked in off the street & got the sea view suite for 3 nights including our breakfast for the bargain price of £170. Resort is warm & offers the lovely Thai welcome with great staff who- don't bother you- but are right there if you need them. This is an absolutely fabulous quiet location on Dolphin Bay's Beach with Angels tours & taxi service right next door offering some fantastic trips at great prices. Angel is a great tour guide with an excellent command of the English language. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Areas visitors are mainly Thai people-avoiding some of the more popular tourist hotspots.
Rooms in Anchana are clean & comfortable, offers a nice breakfast & pool that was almost our own private pool. You can get cheaper rooms here which are also really nice. Would definitely recommend!!

Staff are friendly and attentive. The facilities are well look after. The pool is great. The rooms are nice. The beds great. The breakfast buffet was ok but not much for vegetarians. THe outstanding drawback was that the showerhead was at level with my chest and the you could not the sweet point where the water temperature was just right. The waster was either too hot or too cold. I enjoyed my stay.

I've frequented this beach many times, and stayed at Anchana for the first time recently. Overall, it was enjoyable. My room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a nice little balcony. The pool is surrounded with greenery and the beach is directly across the road. The local area is sparsely populated and is not a party beach. The weekend brings in Thai groups though, and the place next door blasted karaoke loudly late at night which was unfortunate. But during the week, the beach is pretty quiet.
The breakfast is just average, but the restaurant has decent food. I'd recommend the cashew chicken. You can get laundry done much cheaper outside the hotel at a local place. Internet is free but a bit spotty.

Room tip: If you want to see the ocean from your balcony, I'd think you need a room on the third floor.

This is a place which is all about the looks and mainly catering for large bus group tours and travel angencies sending people there. It is not geared to the individual visitor. What I particularly disliked about this place is that they host parties on the relatively unspoiled beach of Dolphin Bay. Dinner tables are moved to the beach resulting in a mess afterwards and obviously the notorious overly loud Thai music and 'Karaoke' will play at night. It is because of this sort of behavior that most of the coastal resorts in Thailand are destroyed, and it seems Anchana is now pioneering this in this bay. If other resorts follow this trend, it will all be over just a few years. I would therefor suggest you do not give them your business if you care about keeping that piece of coast as it is.
